Cass Township Without Power Friday Afternoon


As high winds becomes to pick up Friday afternoon, Cass Township is the first of what will probably many power outages across Schuylkill County.

As of 2:40pm, Friday, 555 of the 560 homes that are PPL customers in Cass Township were without power after a tree fell on wires from the winds.

According to PPL, power is expected to be restored by 7:30pm, Friday.

Schuylkill County remains in a High Wind Warning until 2:00am Saturday morning with winds expected between 25 to 35 mph and gusts up to 60 mph.

As of 2:40pmm, smaller outages were reported in North Manheim Township, North Union Township, Port Carbon, and West Brunswick Township.
