Pottsville Woman Seriously Injured in Gordon Nagle Trail Crash on Thursday

A Pottsville woman suffered serious injuries in a three-vehicle crash in North Manheim Township on Thursday morning.

According to the Pennsylvania State Police at Schuylkill Haven, the crash occurred around 7:40am on the Gordon Nagle Trail at the intersection with Red Horse Road.

The crash occurred when a Jeep Grand Cherokee that was being driven by Brenda Long, 49, of Pottsville, was stopped in the travel lane waiting to make a right turn onto Red Horse Road.

A second vehicle, a Subaru Impreza, being driven by Johnna Maley, 26, of Pottsville, stopped behind Long.

A third vehicle, a Ford F20 Supercab, being driven by Ricky Garland, 44, of Bloomsburg, drove directly into the rear of Maley, pushing her into the rear of Long.

Maley sustained serious injuries in the crash and was transported to Lehigh Valley Hospital in Pottsville by Schuylkill EMS.

Long and Garland were not injured.  All three vehicles sustained disabling damage and were towed from the scene.
