State Police Identify Victim in Fatal Crash on the Gordon Nagle Trail

The Pennsylvania State Police at Schuylkill Haven have released details on Thursday afternoon's deadly crash on the Gordon Nagle Trail.

According to Troopers, the crash occurred just after 3:00pm on Route 901/Gordon Nagle Trail at the intersection with SPCA in North Manheim Township.

Police said Bradley Klare, 33, of Pottsville was traveling south on Route 901 in a Chevrolet Cruze while Lenin Cardenas, 46, of Reading was traveling north in an International Harvester tractor trailer.

Klare reportedly crossed over the double yellow line and collided head-on in the intersection, ejecting him from the vehicle.  He was also not wearing his seatbelt.

Klare died at the scene and was pronounced by a member of the Schuylkill County Coroner's Office.

Cardenas was not injured in the crash.

As of 7:30pm, Route 901/Gordon Nagle Trail was still closed.

The Yorktown Fire Department, Fire Police, Schuylkill EMS, Pennsylvania State Police Collision Analysis Reconstruction Unit, and Forensics Unit responded to the scene.
