Girardville Man Wields Knife on Troopers Serving Arrest Warrant

A Girardville man is facing assault charges after an incident in borough Friday morning.

According to the Pennsylvania State Police at Frackville, on Friday, around 9:15am, State Troopers arrived at 18 North William Street, Girardville to serve an arrest warrant for Edward Brown, 59, for making terroristic threats.

Once Troopers made contact with Brown, he became argumentative and proceeded to concealing himself inside the home.

After Brown refused multiple verbal commands to come outside, Troopers made entry and confronted Brown.

Brown continued to fight Troopers throwing a large piece of glass at police and wielding a large kitchen knife.

Brown was eventually taken into custody for the warrant and arraigned on additional charges of Aggravated Assault by Magisterial District Judge Reiley.
