Big Diamond Speedway Friday Night Preview - 08/06/2021

A preview for this coming Friday night at Big Diamond Speedway.
It will be a big month of August in Schuylkill County at the Big Diamond Speedway with the return of mighty winged 410 sprint cars on August 13th. Then on August 20th, it will be the “Prelude to the Coalcracker” paying a whopping $10,000 to the winner. However, before all that takes place the U.S.S. Achey Open Sportsman and the Savage 61 Crate 602 Sportsman will compete this Friday night August 6th for some extra cash as part of Andy Fayash Memorial night.

Both the Open and Crate Sportsman will race in separate 20-lap main events with $1,157 going to the winner. In the U.S.S. Achey Open Sportsman division, Doug Hendricks has taken over as the points leader after his big win last Friday but Brandon Edgar who had an uncharacteristic eight place finish last Friday is still in mix only trailing by 82 points. Michael Burrows and Tim Fitzpatrick each with two wins on the season have shown speed all season long and will surely be in the mix for the big money.

The Savage 61 Crate 602 Sportsman has shown many different winners this season but with the season winding down and big money on the line look for the top drivers in the chase for the championship to step up their game. Currently Steve Lyle leads the way with a 134-point lead over Danny Buccafusca who is followed closely by Tyler Peet, Eric Palmer and Doug Smith. Jonathan Swift who has won two features this season including last Friday night will be looking to become the only three-time winner in the division.

Our headline division of course is the mighty Insigner Performance 358 Modifieds. Big Diamond Speedway boasts some of the best modified drivers at any track on a Friday night and the competition has been off the charts with multiple winners. Timmy Buckwalter is back in form taking the feature win last Friday night holding off a charging Ryan Krachun. Krachun who is still looking for his first ever Big Diamond Speedway win has shown tremendous speed and if he can keep away from early race struggles that have plagued the young driver that win is right around the corner. Duane Howard has maintained his point lead, but Buckwalter has made strides the past couple of weeks to put some pressure on the multi-time track champion.

The Red White and Blue Autos Roadrunners are also the racing card for Friday and this division continues to excite the crowd every week. Alex Schoffstall is the big winner on the season but because of a couple of missed races earlier this year it is Andrew Fayash III that leads the way in the race for the points title. Fayash III has never finished out of the top ten all year with multiple wins and top five's. If you leave your seat during the Roadrunner feature, you might regret it.

Pit Gates will open on Friday night at 5:00 PM with the grandstand gates opening at 5:30 PM.

Pit passes are $30 for Big Diamond Speedway members. Non-member pit passes are $40.

Warmups get underway at 7:15 PM with racing starting at 7:45 PM.

General admission on Friday night will be $20, Kids under 16 are free. Active military are admitted free with a valid ID.

If you cannot make it to the track, DirtTrackDigest.TV will provide all the action live via pay-per-view.
