Woman Seriously Injured in Rush Township Crash on Friday

 

A woman was taken to the hospital after a crash in Rush Township on Friday.

According to the Pennsylvania State Police at Frackville, the crash occurred on Friday, August 6th, 2021 around 4:30pm.

Troopers say a 32 year old Shamokin woman was headed eastbound on Route 54 just east of Barnesville.

As the driver approached a work zone/bridge repair project, she failed to negotiate a left curve, traveling onto the right shoulder.

The woman's Ford Focus struck several traffic warning signs then struck a crash attenuator that was affixed to a jersey barriers causing the car to spin.

The driver was not wearing her seatbelt, throwing her into the right side of the windshield on impact.

The woman was transported to Saint Luke's Medical Center in Coaldale by Ryan Township Ambulance.

The Ryan Township Fire Company assisted at the scene.

State Police say the woman will be cited for the crash.
