One Transported After Shenandoah Crash

One person was transported after a crash in Shenandoah on Friday morning.

According to the Pennsylvania State Police at Frackville, the crash occurred around 10:15am on South Main Street/Route 924 near the Friendly Food Mart.

Troopers say the crash occurred when Casandra Grogan, 51, of Ringtown attempted to exit the Food Mart.  A tri-axle was parked along the northbound shoulder blocking Grogan's view of northbound traffic.

Grogan was slowly pulling out from the Food Mart when she was struck by a Freightliner Utility Truck being driven by Zachary Heher, 33, of Schuylkill Haven.

Fire and EMS personnel arrived on scene and helped Grogan out of her vehicle.  She was later transported to an area hospital for evaluation.

Heher was not injured in the crash.

Grogan's Dodge Journey sustained disabling front end damage and had to be towed from the scene.

Heher's truck sustained a blown tire.

Assisting at the scene were the Columbia Hose Company and Rescue Hook and Ladder from Shenandoah along with Shenandoah Ambulance.
