A patient that left St. Luke's Geisinger near Orwigsburg burglarized a home near the hospital earlier this month.
According to the Pennsylvania State Police at Schuylkill Haven, on October 9th, 2021, troopers were called to the area of the St. Luke's Geisinger Hospital in West Brunswick Township around 8:15pm, for a welfare check of a patient that exited the hospital and ran across Route 61.
When police arrived, it was discovered the patient entered a nearby home to change into other clothing then fled the scene.
State Police are still investigating this incident and are asking anyone else who has information to contact the Schuylkill Haven Barracks by calling (570) 754-4600 and reference incident PA2021-1365055.
