Mary Elizabeth Malcolm, 63, of Coaldale, PA died on Sunday, October 17, 2021, in Bethlehem, PA. 

Born on April 7, 1958, in Bethesda, MD, she was the daughter of the late Stephen and Anna Mae (nee Young) Chromiak. A high school graduate, Mary Elizabeth worked as a residential property manager. She was raised in the Catholic faith. 

Mary Elizabeth is survived by son, Derrick Chromiak; granddaughter, Destiney Chromiak; and brother, Dr. Stephen Blaise Chromiak and his wife Marjorie. 

Services will be held at 11 AM on Saturday, October 23, 2021 at the Zizlemann-Gulla Funeral Home, 500 East Broad Street, Tamaqua, PA. Interment in Sky View Memorial Park, Hometown, PA will follow the services. Call 10-11 AM on Saturday at the funeral home. COVID-19 protocols will be followed.

William Joseph Klein
, 68, of Schuylkill Haven, passed away Tuesday, Oct. 19, at Lebanon VA Medical Center, Lebanon.

Born in Wilkes-Barre, on July 2, 1953, he was a son of the late Alice C. (Drew) and Louis C. Klein.

He was the husband of Christine (Triplett) Klein.

He served in the Navy and was a member of Bible Tabernacle Pentecostal Church, Schuylkill Haven.

He was a graduate of Myers High School and then Lackawanna Community College, where he graduated with an associate degree.

William was preceded in death by his brother, Robert Klein, and sister, Elizabeth Johnson.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, Kimberly Clay, wife of Chuck, Pine Grove, Tracey Fisher, wife of Duane, Berwick, Wesley Klein, husband of Allison, St. Johns, Fla., and Lorna Shollenberger, wife of Jamie, Pine Grove; grandchildren, Kyle, Rebecca, Ty, Lexi, Jade, Bryce, Shayleen and Ethan; two great-grandchildren; and sister, Martha Ann Norton, wife of Frederick, Medidan, Conn.

A Celebration of Life funeral service will be held at noon Thursday, Oct. 28, at Bible Tabernacle Pentecostal Church, Schuylkill Haven, with the Rev. Ward Ketch officiating. A viewing for family and friends will be held from 11 a.m. until the time of the service at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to International Fellowship of Christian and Jews, P.O. Box 96105, Washington, DC 20090-6105. Interment will follow in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville.

Our precious Mother, Mary Regina (Ryan) Fitzpatrick, 96, of Branchdale, passed away Wednesday, October 20, 2021, at Schuylkill Center, Pottsville.

Born in Duncott, May 30, 1925, she was a daughter of the late Patrick and Caroline (Neidlinger) Ryan.

In addition to being a full-time mother, during her life she was employed by several garment companies. Mary was a member of Holy Family Parish, the former St. Mary Star of the Sea Parish, and the ILGW Union. In her spare time, she loved shopping, reading books, and watching her beloved Phillies. Some of her favorite dishes were her Pan filling for Thanksgiving, rice pudding, and her coconut cream & Peanut Butter eggs that we would sneak and carefully rearrange. She devoted her life to her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.

Living until 96 years old, we believe that God, in his infinite wisdom, knew it was going to take that long for us to prepare to face this day. We are never ready to lose someone we love so much.

She was preceded in death by her husband Thomas J. Fitzpatrick in 1977 and a son Robert Fitzpatrick in 2019; three brothers Lawrence, Patrick and George Ryan; four sisters Susan Hughes, Kathryn Koscil, Alice Woodford, and Betty Ryan.

Surviving are a daughter Maureen Fitzpatrick and granddaughter Caroline Fitzpatrick-Denchy of Branchdale with whom she resided; son Thomas Fitzpatrick and his wife Maureen of Branchdale; daughter Diane Ehlinger and her husband Bertrum of Minersville; daughter Judith Culbert and her husband William of Pottsville. Fourteen grandchildren; twenty-eight great-grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 AM Monday ,October 25, 2021 from Holy Family Parish, 539 Sunbury St, Minersville, PA 17954, with. Rev. Jason F. Stokes officiating. Friends may call from 9:00 AM – 10:00 AM Monday at the church. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Compassus Hospice, 1001 James Drive, Suite B34, Leesport, PA 19533 as a way to thank them for their loving care over the past several months. Gratitude is also extended to the dedicated staff of the Schuylkill Center Nursing Home.

Burial will be in St. Mary Star of the Sea Cemetery, Llewellyn.

Bernice Bohard
, 89, of Wayne Township, passed away Monday October 18, 2021 at St. Luke’s Hospice House, Bethlehem.

Born in Frackville, July 18, 1932, Bernice was the daughter of the late Anthony and Helen Chukusky. She was the wife of the late Arthur Bohard with whom she celebrated 63 years of marriage until his death on October 17, 2017.

Bernice worked alongside her family and was an integral part of Bohard’s Clothiers for many years before retiring to Fort Myers, Florida.

Bernice was active in many community organizations and was secretary for the board of Trustees of the Frackville Free Public Library, President of the Bowling League and Vice-President and Program Chairman of the Frackville Woman’s Club.

As a member of the Benevolent and Protective Order of the Elks, Bernice was a charter member of the Ladies of the Elks and the first vice president. She was also a trustee and served as chairman for various projects.

Gifted with dramatic and musical talent, Bernice was the producer and director for many dramatic presentations. For her dedication to the Elks Club, Bernice was named “Doe of the Year”.

Bernice served on the Board of Directors of the Penn’s Woods Girl Scout Council. She also served as Community Association Chairman, Membership Drive Chairman and on the Council Board Nominating Committee.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter Michele, brother Anthony Chukusky and sister in law Elsie Cohn.

Bernice is survived by her sons, Lee Bohard and Mary Schaeffer of Wayne Township and Steve Bohard and wife Judy of Nazareth, two grandchildren, Rebecca Bohard and Eli Bohard, brother Albert Chukusky and wife Arlene, sister in law Rose Chukusky, brother in law Martin Cohn, nieces and Nephews.

Bernice will be deeply missed.

Burial Services for Arthur and Bernice Bohard will be at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville with full Military Honors.

Services will be private at the convenience of the family.

William "Billie" Zigner
, 72, formerly of Williamstown, passed away on August 25, 2021 in Louisville, Kentucky.

Billie was born in Pottsville, March 24, 1949, a son of the late Herman "Pete" and Anne Chester Zigner. He was a 1968 graduate of Willliams Valley High School. He was of the Catholic faith.

For the past eleven years, Billie served as an usher with the First Unitarian Church in Louisville, Kentucky. Prior to that Billie worked at the former Williamstown Library and Goodwill in Harrisburg.

He is survived by several cousins.

Graveside services will be held at 3:00 pm Friday, October 29, 2021 from the Sacred Heart of Jesus Cemetery, Williamstown with Rev. Michael Opoki, AJ officiating.

Donna F. Davis
, 68, of Pottsville, died peacefully Tuesday at home.

She was born September 19, 1953 in Pottsville, a daughter of Geraldine Keefer Pepper Belusko, Mechanicsville and late John Pepper.

She was a 1971 graduate of Pottsville Area High School and Empire Beauty School.

She was employed as a CNA at Schuylkill Center, Pottsville.

Donna was member of United Presbyterian Church, Pottsville, Mechanicsville Ladies Auxiliary, Mechanicsville Beneficial Association, Mechanicsville Game and Fish, Walter Griffiths AMVETS Post 180 Ladies Auxiliary, and was a social member of West End Hose Fire Co. Pottsville.

In addition to her mother, Donna is survived by her husband Ellsworth C. Davis, Jr., to whom she was married to for 23 years on July 29th and together for over 39 years; a daughter, Janel Hirsch and her husband Matthew, Mechanicsville; a son Anthony Chiccini, Mechanicsville; a grandson, Xander Hirsch; a sister, Jane Ann Pepper, Port Carbon; nieces and nephews.

Services will be held at the convenience of family from James E. Humphrey Funeral Home, Pottsville. The family would prefer remembrances in the form of contributions in memory of Donna be made to Pancreatic Cancer Action Network 1500 Rosecrans Ave., Ste 200., Manhattan Beach, CA 90266. Interment will be at the convenience of the family at Calvary Cemetery, Pottsville.

Albert “Rocky” Rockwell
, 79, of Woodbridge, Virginia, passed away October 15, 2021, in Virginia. Born in Girardville, November 13, 1941, he was the son of the late Albert and Helen Rose Demshock. Rocky was a graduate of the former Ashland High School, class of 1959, and served in the Korean Conflict with the U.S. Army as an infantryman. He was employed 40 years for the Federal Government until his retirement. Preceding him in death was a brother Joseph Rockwell.
