Threat in Bathroom Stall Locks Down Pottsville Area High School

The high school of the Pottsville Area School District was locked down for a period of time on Thursday after a threat was found.

According to an email sent to parents of the students from the district, Superintendent Dr. Sarah Yoder notified parents that "HS Administration was informed there was a threatening statement written in a bathroom stall.  Lockdown procedures were implemented to ensure safety".

Yoder says in the message that Police were immediately notified and conducted a thorough investigation which is still ongoing.

By midday, the lockdown had been lifted.

Pottsville Police have not released any details on this incident yet and we will pass along any information as soon as it's released.
