Frackville Elks Donates Over $11,000 in Toys to Salvation Army

Numerous kids will have a present under the tree on Christmas morning thanks to the work of some volunteers from the Frackville Elks.

Over the course of the year, the Frackville Elks holds numerous events to help raise money for those in need.  Some of those events, like a recent vendor show and Big Wednesday helped raise money for their Annual Toy Drive.

The money raised goes to purchasing toys that are then donated to the Salvation Army Angel Drive which collects gifts for local families.

Jaclyn Yanchulis, organizer of the drive for the Elks says they received more than double their donations from previous years and were able to purchase over $11,000 in toys.

Along with the toys, 20 Angel Bags were bundled for 20 lucky children, which included 3 toys and clothes.

The toys and bags were gathered late Sunday and on Monday, Shustack Welding donated their truck to transport to the Salvation Army in Tamaqua.

The Elks thanks everyone who donated included those who helped by donating time and organizing events.
