Kathleen M. Carey, 72, of Auburn, passed away Thursday, December 9th, at Lehigh Valley Hospital - Schuylkill, E. Norwegian St., Pottsville.

Born in Cincinnati, OH on August 1, 1949, a daughter of the late Carol (Hensel) Campbell and Joseph Lassandro.
She was the wife of Bruce E. Carey.
She was a member of St. Ambrose Roman Catholic Church, Schuylkill Haven.

She was a graduate of School Haven High and attended Brandywine Business School. She retired from Penn State Schuylkill and Gordon Reed Ins. Agency, as a secretary.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by her daughter Melissa Shappell and her partner Andy WIlliams, Schuylkill Haven; grandchildren Cameron, Carson and Colton Shappell; siblings Joseph Lassandro husband of Carla, Jensen Beach, FL and William Campbell husband of Christine, Mohnton.

Kathy is preceded in death her infant twin brother.

A Celebration of Life Funeral Service will be held at Geschwindt-Stabingas Funeral Home, Inc. on Thursday, December 16 at 11:30 am with Pastor Shawn VanDyke officiating.
A visitation will be held prior from 10:30 am until the time of the service at the funeral home.
Interment will be held at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville at 2pm.

Roger K. Miller, 75 years of age of Tamaqua, Pennsylvania passed away on Monday, December 6, 2021 at St. Luke's Hospital in Bethlehem.

Born Wednesday, October 2, 1946 in Allentown, Pennsylvania the son of the late Kenneth J., and Marjorie (Muth) Miller. He was also predeceased by; brother, Kenneth J. Miller, Jr.

Roger graduated from Catasaqua High School. He served honorably in the US Navy during the Vietnam War. He was last employed by Bethlehem Steel. Roger was an outdoorsman and enjoyed woodworking as a hobby.

Surviving are; beloved wife, Susan (Paperman) "Susie" Miller; sister, Debra Wright and her husband, Daniel of Fairmont, WV; nephew Keith Siegfried. Several cousins also survive Roger.

Private funeral services have been entrusted to E. Franklin Griffiths Funeral Home and Cremation Services Inc, 6565 East Broad Street, Tamaqua, PA 18252. 570-668-2550.

Jane A Metzinger, 76, of Big Mine Run, Ashland, passed away Thursday, December 9, 2021, at her home surrounded by her family. Born on April 24, 1945, she was the daughter of the late Bertha (Wetzel) and Abner Cappel.

She worked for the Ashland Pioneer Tunnel Coal Mine for 14 years, the former St. Catherine's Medical Center in Ashland, and the former KMart in Frackville.  Jane enjoyed cooking, coloring, gardening, family vacations, and spending time with her grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Harry (Gene) Metzinger on July 2, 2020, a sister Lois Metzinger, and four brothers Laris, Richard, Russel, and James Cappel.

Jane is survived by two sons, Gene Metzinger wife Jennifer of Gordon, Eric Metzinger fiancé' Jennifer Kimmel of Ashland, two grandchildren Seth Metzinger and Reese Metzinger,

She is also survived her brother Edwin Cappel Sellersville, PA, many nieces and nephews, and her furry friend Tom Tom. Services will be held at the convenience of the family at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville, PA. Rev. Dana Heckman-Beil officiating. Kull-Heizenroth Funeral Home, Ashland, PA is in charge of arrangements.
