A girl from Schuylkill County has won a statewide music contest to sing at the Pennsylvania Farm Show.
In November, Kalli Josephine Smith, 10, of Gordon, was announced as a finalist in the 'Oh Say Can You Sing' contest through the PA Farm Show to earn her a chance to sing the National Anthem at the event in early January.
You may have heard Kalli sing the song from events like the Schuylkill League Playoffs at Martz Hall or other high school sporting events. She also performed at the Music in the Schoolyard event in Gordon earlier this year.
Kalli's mom learned of the contest through social media and sent posted a recording of her singing on Youtube in October.
In the first week of November, Kalli learned she was a finalist, with final voting being held on the PA Farm Show Facebook page.
On Friday, Kalli learned she had the most votes and won the contest among entries from across the state.
Kalli's will sing to open the Jr. Livestock Sale on at 9:30am on January 11th, 2021.
