A standoff that began Friday morning ended peacefully near Pine Grove.
According to the Pennsylvania State Police at Schuylkill Haven, on Friday, around 10:50am, Troopers were dispatched to Muskee Lane in Washington Township for a welfare check.
The caller reported that his neighbor was smashing the windows out of his home and was outside screaming. The caller also said the neighbor made comments about wanting the police to kill him and threatened the neighbors.
When Troopers arrived and attempted to make contact with the male, he refused to come out of his home.
Police said that an involuntary commitment for a mental health evaluation was granted and the Pennsylvania State Police Special Emergency Response Team arrived on scene. The male eventually surrendered, was taken into custody, and transported to the hospital.
