Wintry Mix, Ice Accumulation Possible Monday Afternoon into Evening

Monday afternoon's commute might get slippery with some snow and sleet possible.

On Sunday afternoon, the National Weather Service issued a Winter Weather Advisory due to the forecast for Monday.

By daybreak Monday morning, Schuylkill County will see cloudy skies with light snow moving into the area around 10:00am.  The snow will linger midday until around 4:00pm when temperatures will drop and the sleet will mix in the snow.

The wintry mix is expected to last until around midnight to 1:00am early Tuesday morning.  Very little accumulation is expected in terms of snow but we could see up to 1/10th of an inch of ice on untreated surfaces.

Area schools are on Christmas break this week but high school sports are still scheduled for Monday evening.  Those games may be postponed.
