Four Face Drug Charges After Minersville Traffic Stop

Four people face drug charges after a traffic stop last month in Minersville.

According to Minersville Police, the traffic stop occurred on February 20th, 2022 around 7:00pm when borough police pulled over a vehicle on South Third Street.

Police say the driver of the vehicle, Joanne Noble, 44, of Cumbola was found to be driving with a suspended license for DUI and was also on parole.  The other three passengers in the vehicle, Christ Natale, 47, of Pottsville, John Luback, 55, of Minersville, and Thomas Sullivan, 48, of Saint Clair, were also reported to have suspended licenses as well.

During the traffic stop, Officer Ethan Powell was overcome by a strong odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle.

After signing consent for a search of the vehicle, each of the occupants were searched by police.

Sullivan was found to be in possession of 3 bundled clear baggiest which contained a clear crystal-like substance that field tested positive for methamphetamine.

Natale was found to be in possession of 4 clear bags containing a substance that field tested positive for methamphetamine.

Luback was found to possession of a pill bottle containing a substance that field tested positive for methamphetamine.

A search of the trunk of the vehicle led to the finding of a black plastic bag containing 19 grams of marijuana. and drug paraphernalia.

As a result, Minersville Police Patrolman Ethan Powell and Patrolman Jeffrey Bowers filed charges of possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance, and possession with drug paraphernalia on all four individuals through Magisterial District Judge Dave Plachko's office.
