Eva Nellie Jones (Eve)
, 79, of Germanville passed away Tuesday evening at home, as she wished, in Ashland PA on April 19, 2022, after losing her battle with pancreatic cancer. She was born in Philadelphia, PA to Laura Mae (nee Gottschall) and Charles Henry Deibert on April 6, 1943.

Eve was known as the camp counselor among siblings because she always bossed them around when they were young but that was because she often was the one taking care of them. She still bossed them around as adults and by that time she was very good at it.
She was a true nurturer and loved nothing more than to have her family and friends around for visits which almost always included a meal. She took care of people all her life and whatever she had, whether it be food, clothes, a place to stay, a shoulder to lean on, she willingly shared with it others.

She accomplished many things in her life from owning and running restaurants, running large conference centers, working as a dietician in nursing homes, running her own jewelry business, waitress (which is still a surprise) among many other things.

She loved going to the shore or to the mountains, taking trips and spending time with her family and friends. She was so grateful to have time with family and friends at the end of her life and although those visits often tired her out completely, they also made her gloriously happy.

Although Eve came from very humble beginnings, she and Jack built a wonderful life together. She really loved the life she lived, and that life included accomplishing every single thing on her bucket list. Not many people can say that.

She is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 49 years, Jack, her son Walt (Tammy), daughter Eva (Jim), grandchildren, Walter (Cori), Jenna, Vanessa (Oliver), Jimmy (Rachael), Nicole; great grandchildren, Kolbie, Dakota and Caleb. She is also survived by her siblings: brother, Jim (Lucy) and four sisters, Cass (Peter), Dee (Carl), Charlotte (Marshall) and Eileen (Bill) and many well-loved nieces and nephews on both sides of her family along with Walter and Jenna’s mother, Elaine. She is also survived by many friends and neighbors that she also considered part of her family.

A viewing for family and friends will be held Friday, April 22nd from 5-6 PM at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 35 N 9th St, Ashland PA. A service will be held at 6 PM in the church with Pastor Dana Beil officiating. Interment will take place at a later day.

If you are so inclined, in lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to All Care Hospice Care or Old Fashioned Xmas c/o Ashland Area Historic Preservation Society.

Kull-Heizenroth Funeral Home Inc., 901 Centre Street Ashland, PA 17921 has been entrusted with the arrangements.
