Man Locked Up in Schuylkill County Prison for Stealing Jeep in Pottsville


A man is locked up in Schuylkill County Prison for stealing a Jeep in Pottsville on Tuesday.

According to Pottsville Bureau of Police Chief Richard Wojciechowsky, on Tuesday, April 19th, 2022, around 7:30pm, Pottsville Police investigated a stolen vehicle report made by the owner of a Jeep Wrangler that had been parked in the 700 block of W. Norwegian Street. 

The investigation showed that Shawn Michael Cicero Jr. 27, no known address, had stolen the keys to the vehicle earlier that day from inside a relative’s home and then stolen the Jeep.

A short time later Orwigsburg Police Ptlm. McBreen observed the Jeep in the area of East Market Street and North Warren Street in Orwigsburg and made contact with the sole occupant who was Cicero. Pottsville Police took custody of Cicero Jr. and the vehicle was returned to the owner.

A criminal complaint was prepared by Ptlm Stephen Delinko charging Cicero with Motor Vehicle Theft, Receiving Stolen Property, and Driving While Operating Privilege is Suspended. Cicero Jr. was arraigned by Magisterial District Judge Reiley who set bail at $20,000 straight cash, and Cicero was remanded to the Schuylkill County Prison.
