Christopher James Santus, 54, of New Philadelphia, PA and formerly of Ambler, PA, died on Tuesday, May 31, 2022, in Pottsville, PA. He was the fiancĂ© of Kathleen (Dougherty) Ellis. 

Born in Valdosta, GA on January 12, 1968, Christopher was a son of Gail (Prysi) Santus of Palmetto, FL and the late Edward Santus. He attended Wissahickon High School in Ambler, PA. Loving all aspects of motorcycling, Christopher had been the owner of the former Chezrock Cycles in New Philadelphia. Most recently he has been employed by Clearly Clean in Orwigsburg, PA. 

Surviving him in addition to his fiancĂ©e, Kathleen and his mother, Gail and a brother, Michael Santus of Palmetto, Fl; sons, James Ulrich of New Philadelphia and Eric Ulrich of Cumbola; and 4 grandchildren. 

Memorials in Christopher’s name may be made to Pennsylvania Wounded Warriors, Inc. 1117 Country Club Road, Camp Hill, PA 17011. 

Arrangements are being handled by the Zizelmann-Gulla Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., Tamaqua.

Lois J. Seip, 88, of Nesquehoning, PA, passed away on Friday, June 3, 2022 in St. Lukes Hospital - Miners Campus, Coaldale, PA, ending 6 years of pain and suffering. 

Born in Kingston, PA on February 1, 1934, she was the daughter of Alice Cooper Fritz and several years after became the beloved step daughter of Cyrus W. Davis, the only father she knew. A 1952 graduate of the former Kingston High School, Lois attended business school in Allentown, PA and upon graduation was employed by a CPA. After her marriage to The Rev. Durrell Seip, they returned to Kingston when he became the pastor of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Kingston. She joined her husband in serving as a member of the staff of the former Lutheran Welfare Service in Hazleton, PA where she started as an administrative assistant and retired as the Volunteer Co-Ordinator after 20 years of employment with the agency. 

Lois is survived by her husband with whom she would have celebrated their 68th wedding anniversary this summer. 

In addition, she leaves three children, Lauren Young and her husband Rory of Roswell, GA, Donna Trimmel and her husband Joseph, Jr. of Nesquehoning, and David Seip of Allentown as well as four grandchildren, Jillian Horton and her husband Ian of Franklin Township, PA, Joseph Trimmel, III of Lehighton, PA, Aimee Seip and Douglas Seip both of Allentown. 

Services will be held in St. John Lutheran Church, East Side, 6th and North Streets, Jim Thorpe, PA at 1 PM on Monday, June 13 with The Rev. John Hassler officiating. Her family will greet friends at the church prior to the service. 

Arrangements are being handled by the Zizelmann-Gulla Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., Tamaqua.

Robert R. Gordon, 92, formerly of Schuylkill Haven, passed away Sunday at Seton Manor, where he resided.

Born on March 10th, 1930, he was the son of the late Francis & Elmira (Hughes) Gordon.

He was the widower of Jeanne L. (Krause) Gordon with whom he shared nearly 68 years of marriage.
Robert was a member of the First United Christ Church of Schuylkill Haven.

Following graduation at Schuylkill Haven High School, he served in the U.S. Air Force.
He worked at Alcoa as a maintenance mechanic.

In addition to his wife and parents, Robert is preceded in death by his brother Edward Gordon and sister Helen Williams.

Robert is survived by his daughter, Gail, wife of Scott Buffington, of Schuylkill Haven, and three sons; Richard, husband of Delretta Gordon, of Auburn; Thomas, husband of Jane Gordon, of Schuylkill Haven; & Robert Gordon of Schuylkill Haven.

He is also survived by his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews, and his siblings Joan Eckert, of Schuylkill Haven, and Leon Gordon, of Auburn.

Mark S. Warner
, 63, of Pine Grove, passed away on Thursday, June 2, 2022 in Select Specialty Hospital, Camp Hill.

Born on October 19, 1958 in Pottsville, he was a son of Florence Bretzius Warner of Pine Grove and the late Fred S. Warner.

Mark was a member of Hetzel's UCC and the Strausstown Gun Club. He loved the outdoors, his animals and lawn tractors.

Preceding him in death were two brothers, Terry Warner and Donald Warner.

Surviving, in addition to his mother, are two brothers, Eric Warner of Schuylkill Haven, Jed and wife Cheryl Warner of Pine Grove; two sisters, Doreen Warner of Pine Grove, Laura and husband Richard Beyer of Bradington, FL; 1 nephew, Dale Nagle; 4 nieces, Heather Meily, Hannah Kreiser, Leah Warner, and Amelia Warner; 1 great niece, 4 great nephews; and his cat Kitty.

Memorial Services will be held on Wednesday, June 8, 2022 at 3:00 P.M. at Hetzel's Church, 261 Hetzel's Church Rd., Pine Grove, Pa. with John Ries officiating. There will be a visitation on Wednesday, June 8, 2022 from 2:00 P.M. until 3:00 P.M. at the Church.

The H. L. Snyder Funeral Home, Inc., Pine Grove is in charge of arrangements.

Lois L. Adams
, 92, of Tower City passed away Sunday, June 5, 2022 at her residence.

Lois was born in Newtown, PA, on April 10, 1935, a daughter of late Raymond and Hazel Griffiths Adams.

She grew up in Williamstown and was a graduate of Williamstown High School. She also graduated with a Bachelor's degree from Lebanon Valley College and a Master's degree from Penn State University.

She spend most of her adult life living on the Main Line in Philadelphia where she retired as Director of Special Education for the Radnor School District in Wayne. There is a yearly award given in her honor at the middle school. It is named the "Lois Adams" award, which is presented to the eighth grade student who has shown growth and improvement within their middle school career and has demonstrated consistent effort and motivation throughout middle school. She had a passion for placing children in an environment where they could be most successful. She attended Twin Valley Alliance Church in Williamstown.

She is survived by her sister, Nancy Jones, Tower City, her nephew Jeff Soliday and his wife Lisa, Tower City; great niece, Shalee Forsythe and her husband John, Tower City; great nephews, Shaun Soliday and his wife Krissy, Philadelphia; Joshua and Josiah Soliday, Tower City; great-great nieces, Avonlea, Rosalie and Jolee Forsythe, Tower City; great-great nephew Samuel Soliday, Philadelphia; and many, many dear friends.

Following Lois's wishes there will be no services and she will laid to rest in the Fairview Cemetery, Williamstown. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Twin Valley Alliance Church, 9781 State Route 209, Williamstown, PA 17098 in her memory. The family would like to thank the folks from Compassion Hospice and Heritage Mills Assisted Living for their wonderful care.

Meredith M Woehrle
, age 90, of Valley View, formerly of Tobyhanna, passed away Saturday, June 4, 2022 at her residence.

She was born on Friday, April 15, 1932, in Scranton, a daughter of the late William Stoddard and the late Verna (Jones) Stoddard.

She was of the Methodist Faith.

Meredith enjoyed collecting light houses, caring for her cats, and loved spending time with her grandchildren. She especially enjoyed her yearly mother-daughter outings.

She was preceded in death by her parents and by two grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband Kenneth C Woehrle, to whom she was married for 71 years.

She is also survived by four daughters, Deborah L Minnich and her husband Timothy of Hegins, Pamela A Martucci and her husband Joseph of Gouldsboro, Kelly J Bari of Valley View, and Karen M Miller and her husband John of Pitman; five grandchildren; a great granddaughter; a brother, Milo Stoddard of South Sterling; and several nieces and nephews..

As per Meredith's wishes there will be no service.

Kenneth L. Frie, Jr., 68 of Pottsville, died Monday morning at Lehigh Valley Hospital-Schuylkill, East Norwegian St., Pottsville.

He was born September 6, 1953 in Pottsville a son of the late Kenneth L. Sr., and Edna Kilmurray Frie.

He was a 1971 graduate of Pottsville Area High School and a 1976 graduate of Penn State University.

Prior to retiring he was an English teacher at the D.H.H. Lengel Middle School, Pottsville.

Ken was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Pottsville. Throughout his life he was an avid golfer and college sports fan especially Penn State.

Surviving are his close cousins, Jane Kremer and her husband Richard, Schuylkill Haven, Thomas Schaffer, Schuylkill Haven, and Dorothy Martinaitis and her husband Gary, New Philadelphia; cousins, friends and his loyal Golden Retriever Companion, Goldy;

Funeral service will be held Noon Thursday at James E. Humphrey Funeral Home, Pottsville, with Rev. Chris Rothharpt officiating. Family and friends are invited to a viewing from 11AM until the time of services. The family would prefer remembrances in memory of Ken to made to Golden Retriever Foundation, PO Box 952732, St. Louis, Missouri 63195-2732 or Hillside SPCA, PO Box 233 Pottsville, PA 17901. Interment will follow at Schuylkill Memorial Park, Schuylkill Haven.

Patricia A. "Pat" Skelson
, age 83, of Barnesville, passed away Wednesday night May 25, 2022 at St. Luke's Hospice in Bethlehem. 

Born in Hazleton she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Helen (Semuta) Kringe. She was a 1956 graduate of Hazleton High School and had been employed by Guinans Department Store and Mahanoy Valley Door and Supply both formerly in Mahanoy City. She was a member of St. Richard's Church in Barnesville. 

She was preceded in death by her husband Al in May of 2021. 

 She is survived by cousins and many good friends. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated by the Rev. Robert Finlan on Thursday June 9, 2022 at 11 AM from St. Richard's Church in Barnesville. 

Interment will follow in the White Church Cemetery in Rush Township. In lieu of flowers contributions in Pat's name to Annunciation Monastery, 403 W. County Road, Sugarloaf, PA 18249 would be appreciated.
