State Police DUI Checkpoint Leads to Arrests in Northern Schuylkill County

A Sobriety Checkpoint in Northern Schuylkill County this past weekend led to several arrests.

According to the Pennsylvania State Police at Frackville, Troopers conducted a sobriety checkpoint from 10:00pm, Friday, June 10th, 2022 until 2:00am, Saturday, June 11th, 2022 on Route 54 in the area of Willow Street in Mahanoy Township.

State Police also increased patrols this past weekend to in an effort to watch for drivers under the influence of alcohol or drugs.

As a result of the DUI checkpoint, approximately 81 motorists were contacted.  Out of those contacted, 2 were arrested for DUI, 1 was arrested for Act 64 violations, 1 was taken into custody on an arrest warrant, as well as several traffic citations and warnings were issued.

State Police at Schuylkill Haven have also said their barracks will be increasing DUI patrols over the next month.
