URC Sprint Cars return to Big Diamond on Advance Auto Parts night this Friday

The winged warriors of the Capital Renegades United Racing Club make their return to Big Diamond Speedway this Friday, June 24th..

The legendary sprint car club was scheduled to race at Big Diamond on May 20th but like every Friday in May was postponed due to rain. This coming Friday, the weather looks to be fantastic as the URC brings their exciting brand of racing to God’s Country as part of Advance Auto Parts Night.

Jason Schultz currently leads the way in the race for the 2022 season championship by 56 markers over Josh Weller. Schultz, Weller and part-timer Mark Smith lead the way with two victories each and will all be looking for win number three come Friday night.

The Insigner Performance Modifieds are also on the schedule for Friday night. Last week’s winner Brett Kressley became the first driver in 2022 to win multiple races as he made a last lap pass of new points leader Louden Reimert to steal away the win. Going into last Friday night, Duane Howard was the points leader but an unfortunate wreck which saw Howard ending up on his roof ended his race resulting in Howard dropping to fourth in the race for the 2022 title.

The last three USS Achey Crate 602 Sportsman races have found the same two drivers finishing first and second. Danny Buccafusca and Brandon Edgar have seemed to take a hold of the Crate 602 division as they battle for supremacy in 2022. Both drivers have won two features each and have left no doubt that they will continue their battle. Lurking not too far behind in the points and waiting to pounce if the aforementioned drivers falter are Matt Yoder and Logan Watt.

With another good run last week, Mike Reichert continues to lead the way in the Red White and Blue Autos Roadrunner title chase. Alex Schoffstall thrust himself back into contention with his win last Friday and will looking to make it back-to-back as he tries to cut into Reichert’s points lead.

Pit gates will open this Friday at 5:00 pm with Grandstand gates opening at 5:30 pm

Pit admission is $35 for Big Diamond Speedway members. Non-member pit admission is $40.

Warmups get underway at 7:15 PM with racing starting at 7:45 PM.

General admission on Friday night will be $25, Senior Admission is $23, Kids under 16 are free. Active military are admitted free with a valid ID.

Once again in 2022, Big Diamond Speedway has partnered with Dirt Track Digest TV to bring the live action to you if you cannot attend via Pay-Per-View.
