Pedestrian Struck in Frackville Dies from Injuries, Borough Police Continue to Investigate

A pedestrian struck in Frackville on Monday has died from her injuries.

According to Frackville Police Chief Paul Olson, on Monday, August 15th, 2022 around 3:30pm, borough police were dispatched to the area of Lehigh Ave and Frack St for a report of a motor vehicle accident involving a pedestrian. 

An investigation led to learning a 92-year-old Frackville woman was crossing Lehigh Ave at the intersection with Frack St, at the same time, a 37-year-old Ashland man, operating a Ram pick-up truck, was turning from Frack Street to head south on Lehigh Ave/State Route 924. 

The vehicle collided with the female, who was treated for serious injuries and transported by helicopter to Geisinger in Danville and later pronounced deceased. 

The investigation is ongoing and anyone with any information or may have witnessed the incident is asked to contact Frackville Police at 570-628-3792 or 570-462-1991.

Frackville Police were assisted by Pennsylvania State Police, Frackville Fire Dept, Frackville EMS, Ashland EMS, Schuylkill EMS, Geisinger LifeFlight, West Mahanoy Township Police Department.

The identities of the victim and driver have not been released as of this posting.
