On a night where the Golden Bears recognized their hometown heroes, Mahanoy Area defeated Pen Argyl.
The Golden Bears would jump out to a 14-0 lead in the first half with a touchdown by Ben Manley in the 1st quarter and Colm McGroarty in the second.
By halftime, Pen Argl would get on the board making it 14-7.
The Green Knights would score again in the third quarter to tie up the game at 14-14.
With just under 11 minutes left in the game, McGroarty would find the end zone again for the final score of the game and a win for the Bears 20-14.
Mahanoy Area goes 2-0 for the season and moves on to play Panther Valley in Lansford for Week 3.
