Mary C. Umlauf
, 73, of Ashland, passed away Friday evening at Geisinger Medical Center Danville.

She was born on November 24, 1948 in Ashland and was the daughter of the late Isabelle (Eagan) and John Coddington Sr.

She was a lifelong member of St. John’s Episcopal Church in Ashland. Mary served on various committees and had several leadership roles in the vestry throughout the years at the church.

Mary graduated with the Class of 1966 from Mount Carmel High School, she then continued her education at Bloomsburg College and graduated in 1970 with a BS in Elementary Education. Later she obtained her Master of Education from Bloomsburg University.

She was an elementary education teacher in first and third grade in the North Schuylkill School District for many years.

Mary married her surviving husband, Lee R. Umlauf, on July 1, 1972.

In addition to being involved with her church, she was also on the Ashland Public Library Board and was a member of PSECA.

Mary is survived by her spouse; son Peter Umlauf husband of Marie, Las Vegas, NV; Granddaughter Malia Umlauf; sister Anne Joyce wife of Charles, Pine Grove; sister Colleen Dzwonczyk wife of Joseph, New Freedom, PA; brother John Coddington Jr husband of Gail, Harrisburg; brother Joseph Coddington, Pine Grove.

A funeral service will be held on Monday September 12th at 12:00 noon at St. John’s Episcopal Church, Market & 13th Sts, Ashland PA. A visitation for family and friends will be held in the church from 10:30AM-12:00PM. Interment will follow services at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made in Mary’s name to the Ashland Public Library 1229 Centre Street Ashland, PA 17921 or St. John’s Memorial Fund (North Parish), PO Box 487, Frackville PA 17931.

Ross O. Golazeski, 63, of Mount Carmel, formerly of Ashland, passed away Wednesday at Geisinger Medical Center Danville.

He was born on September 30, 1958 in Ashland and was the son of the late John S. Golazeski and Helen (Curley).

Ross graduated with the Class of 1976 from North Schuylkill High School.

He was currently employed by Advance Auto Parts in Shenandoah.

Ross enjoyed cars, hunting, and fishing.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his sister-in-law Michele Golazeski.

Ross is survived by his three brothers Barry Golazeski, Allentown; Lee Golazeski, Ashland; Todd Golazeski, Ashland; sister Donna Grybowski wife of Jim, Westfield NJ; sons Tyler and Jonathan Golazeski Locust Gap, PA; niece Elissa Grybowski; several aunts, uncles, and cousins.

A service will be held on Tuesday September 5th at 11:00 AM at the funeral home with Pastor Dana Beil officiating. A viewing for family and friends will be held from 10-11:00 AM at the funeral home. Interment will be private at Brock Cemetery.
