Happy 70th Anniversary Mrs. T's Pierogies!

Happy 70th Anniversary to Mrs. T's Pierogies! Today, the company is celebrating 70 years in business!

In 1952, Ted Twardzik Sr. dreamed of starting a food company inspired by his mother's pierogy recipe. He remembered how popular the Polish dumplings were at church festivals and thought people would be excited to purchase them from their local grocery stores year-round.

Later that year, Ted sold his very first pierogy samples to his local grocery store in Shenandoah, PA, and to honor his mother Mary Twardzik – the Mrs. T – he called his company Mrs. T's Pierogies.

Now, 70 years later, Mrs. T's Pierogies is the largest producer of frozen pierogies, producing 600 million pierogies a year.

Mrs. T’s remains a family-owned company, ran by Ted Twardzik Sr.'s son Tom, and still operates at the family’s former bar in Shenandoah, Schuylkill County!

The company continues to be very involved in the community.  Each year the company celebrates National Pierogy Day at Borough Hall with an annual flag raising and they also sponsor the annual Santa Drop, where Santa parachutes into Shenandoah Valley's Veterans Stadium every year on Black Friday.

This year's Santa Drop is scheduled for Friday, November 25th, 2022 at Noon.
