Santa Arrives by ATV in Shenandoah

Due to Friday's weather forecast, Santa Claus had to change his plans slightly on how he was going to arrive in Shenandoah.

Mrs. T's Pierogies continued their yearly Black Friday tradition at Shenandoah Valley's Veterans Stadium where Santa was scheduled to skydive on the football field.

But due to the rainy and windy weather forecast, Santa surprised everyone when he arrived on an ATV.

This was the second year in a row where Santa was able to skydive.  In 2021, he arrived via an LVHN Medivac helicopter.

After appearing on the ATV, Santa rode along the edge of the football field to greet all the children and adults.

Santa then hopped aboard the Polish American's fire truck and was led by police and the rest of the borough's fire department through town to borough hall where he met with more children.

Shenandoah began this annual tradition several decades ago and it went away for several years until Ateeco/Mrs. T's Pierogies owner Tom Twardzik realized he missed it.

Twardzik said "It took about a year until my message made its way to the North Pole and Santa said he wanted to come back.  All Santa said he needed was a big open safe space for me come and do it, and the school, thank goodness, came through for us and let us use the football field."

This year, Mrs. T's is celebrating 70 years in business and Twardzik was thrilled with the hundreds of people that attended Friday's event.

"Its been a blessing to us that so many of these people are customers of Mrs. T's and they have been supportive of us for 7 decades.  They invite us into their homes and make us part of their own traditions, so that we take very near and dear to our hearts."
