Karen A. Wetzel, 73, of Schuylkill Haven, passed away Monday, November 7th, at Pottsville Hospital

Karen was born in Pottsville, PA on December 24, 1948, a daughter of the late Helen O. (Thompson) and Robert H. Hossler.

She last worked as a CNA at Seton Manor Orwigsburg, PA a graduate of Blue Mountain High School Class of 1968.

Karen is survived by three sons Robert, companion Shannon Armes, of Shamokin; David, companion Sandra Botzer, of Orwigsburg; Steven Wetzel, of Pine Grove; Granddaughter Annaleigh.

She is also survived by 2 sisters Gail Goff of Quakertown and Veta Frank wife of Rob Pottsville, sister in law Marianne Hossler of Holiday FL, two nieces Tara Brown and companion Craig Leibensperger their sons Chase and Collin and Ashley Brown and her companion Zach Unger. Numerous cousins and extended family members and one last aunt Janet.

She was preceded in death by a brother David Hossler.

A Celebration of Life Memorial will be held 10:30 AM on Friday, November 18th at Ebling-Stabingas Funeral Home in Cressona, PA with a visitation for family and friends from 9:30 till time of service.

The family prefers remembrances in the form of contributions to Salvation Army 400 Sanderson Street Pottsville, PA 17901.

Ebling Stabingas Funeral Home is in charge of services with cremation provided by Riverside Cremation Services both of Schuylkill Haven.

Eva Pauline "Polly" Wolfe Heberling Kutz
, 95, of Pine Grove, passed away on Tuesday, November 15, 2022, in the Tremont Health & Rehab Center.

Born on April 23, 1927 in Swopes Valley, Pine Grove, she was a daughter of the late William and Eva Berger Wolfe.

She was a member of Oak Grove Brethren Chapel, Pine Grove.

Eva was a Seamstress for the former Fox-Knapp Mfg. in Pine Grove.

Preceding her in death were her first husband, Clyde L. Heberling, second husband, Laban Z Kutz; a son, Frankie L. Heberling; three brothers, John, Edwin and Frank Wolfe; two sisters, Grace Roth and Jennie Snyder.

Surviving are two daughters, Charlotte and husband Dennis Strausser of Pine Grove, Elaine Aungst of Lebanon; 3 grandchildren, Joleen and husband Kevin Peoples, Brandy Reppert and Kelly Felty; 7 great grandchildren; 4 great great grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services will be held on Friday, November 18, 2022 at Noon at the H. L. Snyder Funeral Home, Inc., Pine Grove with Pastor Earl Blinkley officiating. There will be a viewing on Friday, November 18, 2022 from 11:00 A.M. until Noon at the Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Jacob's Lutheran Cemetery, Pine Grove.

Bernard C. Schuck Jr., 56, Pine Grove, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Tuesday, November 15th.

Born in Pottsville, he was a son of the late Bernard Sr. and Cheryl Pollack Schuck. He was also preceded in death by his wife Lisa A. Miller, a sister, Judy L. Schuck and his brother Jeff P. Schuck.

He is survived by his two sons: Bj Schuck and Ethan Schuck; a daughter Tami and her husband Brian Heffelfinger; his sister, Sherrie Schuck Shaffer; his love and fiancé, Melissa Kellett; his very special niece Savannah Raine along with his 10 grandchildren and nieces and nephews.

Private funeral services will be held at the convenienvce of the family.

Robert W. Treshock, 59, Lavelle, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Monday, November 14th.

Sally A. Rubright, age 70, of Port Carbon, PA passed away unexpectedly on Friday, November 11th, 2022 at Lehigh Valley Hospital, Schuylkill, East, Pottsville.

Born in Pottsville, PA on July 1, 1952, she was the daughter of the late Darlington and M. Louise (Runkle) Bebelheimer.

Sally loved gardening, animals, and most of all her grandchildren. She was always thoughtful, trying to help everyone.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother Darl "Sam" Bebelheimer

Sally is survived by her husband of 52 years, Thomas F. Rubright, two sons: Thomas F. Rubright III and his wife Jessica, and Christopher M. Rubright, and a grandson Jaden Rubright, all of Port Carbon; a granddaughter Brianna Rubright; a sister Judy Baka and her husband Paul, Maryland; and nieces and nephews.

A Memorial Service will be held at the Robert A. Evans Jr. Funeral Home in Port Carbon on Friday November 18th at 6pm, with Deacon Jack Quirk officiating.

Relatives and Friends are invited to visit with the family on Friday from 4-6pm at the Funeral Home.

Interment will be held private at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery in Annville.

John M. Zaleski, 84 of Shenandoah passed away on Wednesday, November 9, 2022 at Lehigh Valley Hospital-Cedar Crest, Allentown.

Born in Shenandoah on February 8, 1938, he was the son of the late Bernard J. and Mary (Preneta) Zaleski.

He was an Army Veteran having served his country during the Korean War.

John was a retired bus driver for the Schuylkill Transportation System (S.T.S.).

Surviving are two sons, John J. Zaleski and his wife Joyce of Ringtown and Joseph Zaleski of Shenandoah; three grandchildren; five great-grandchildren, his niece and caregiver, Sharon Steward and her husband Thomas of Shenandoah; additional nieces, nephews and cousins.

A religious service will be held on Tuesday, November 22, 2022 at 10:00 am at Walukiewicz-Oravitz Fell Funeral Home, 132 South Jardin Street, Shenandoah. Monsignor Ronald C. Bocian will officiate. A visitation will be held prior to the service on Tuesday from 9:00 am until 10:00 am at the funeral home. Interment with military honors will follow in St. Casimir’s Cemetery, Shenandoah Heights.

Geraldine M Heim
, 91, former longtime resident of Valley View, passed away on November 15, 2022 at Green Valley Nursing and Rehab in Pottsville.

She was born on December 5,1930, in Pottsville, a daughter of the late Charles H. and Mary E. Herb Schultz.

Geraldine was a graduate of the former Hegins Twp High School.

She was a receptionist for AMP of Harrisburg, and was a member of Friedens United Church of Christ, Hegins and was formerly in the choir.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sons, Roger C. in 1979, Rodney R. in 2006; three brothers Charles S. Schultz, Kermit Schultz, Palmer Schultz; three sisters Gertrude Deitz, Irene Bernas, Ruby Kessler.

Geraldine is survived by a daughter-in-law, Petra Heim of Valley View; three grandsons, Rahn R Heim and wife Renee of Paxtonville, Jehramy Heim of Michigan, Riley Heim of Valley View; two granddaughters, Kathrin Kehler and husband Matthew of Hegins, Carol Ann Frantz and husband Preston of Pine Grove. Seven great grandchildren Alexis, Rodney, Tyler, Danee, Mason, Kinsleigh, and Quinn. Geraldine is also survived by two sisters Norma Fetterhoff of Pine Grove and Betty Schleigs of Gowen City.

Services will be private and at the convenience of the family. Burial will be made in Friedens Cemetery, Hegins.

Gwen J. Reese
, 91, of Pottsville, passed away Tuesday afternoon surrounded by her family.

Gwen was born in Pottsville on December 4, 1930, a daughter of the late Joseph and Ruth (Hardy) Davis.

She attended Pottsville high school and was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Pottsville where she taught Sunday School for many years. She also enjoyed attending the First Baptist Church in Pottsville with her late husband, Earl.

Gwen worked for the former Bell Telephone, now Verizon company for over forty years in the anonymous call center and business office. Gwen and Earl also enjoyed operating thier ceramic business for many years. Her artistic talent was realized with the quality products, especially the face and eyes, which she helped her patrons create.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Earl Reese, Jr. in 2017, and by her sister, Virginia B. Keller Ehrlich.

Surviving are two daughters, Kimberly Reese and Terry, wife of Mark Thomas. She was adored by her grandchildren, Melanie Reese Mulherin (Patrick), Erin Reese, Ryan Reese, Mark Thomas (Camile), Denise Thomas (Matthew), Gregory Thomas (Adele), Kayla Thomas (Devon) and her great grandchildren, Beckett, Cooper, Kaisley, Barron, Joseph, Reese and Charlotte.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a memorial service which will be held on Tuesday, November 22nd at 11 AM at the Trinity Lutheran Church, Pottsville. A time of visitation will be from 10:30 until the time of the service. Gwen will be laid to rest alsongside her husband at the Indiantown Gap National Cemetery during private services.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations are asked to be made to the Trinity Lutheran Church in memory of Gwen.

The Schlitzer Allen Pugh Funeral Home, Pottsville, is assisting Gwen's family during this time of need.

Thomas F. "Tom" Smith, 62, Frackville passed away peacefully Wednesday at Rosewood Nursing Center, Schuylkill Haven.

Born in Philadelphia he was a son of the late Robert W. and Elizabeth R. Leinenbach Smith, He was a self employed contractor and the owner of Smith Contracting.

Tom was an avid Notre Dame fan and also the Philadelphia teams, Eagles Flyers, 76ers and Phillies. He also enjoyed spending his free time boating on the river and also playing pool.

He was preceded in death by a brother Robert W. Smith Jr.

Tom is survived by his wife Mary Teresa “Terri” Tenaglia Smith, his son Tommy Smith, Frackville, his twin Brother Timothy J. Smith and William Smith both of Ashland, his sister Barbara Jenkins, Ashland and by several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Monday at 11 a.m. from the Thomas M. Sullivan Funeral Home, Frackville, with Rev. Giuseppe Esposito officiating. Interment will be in St. Joseph’s Catholic Cemetery, Fountain Springs. Friends may call at the funeral home on Monday from 9 a.m. until time of service.
