Funeral Services Announced for New Tripoli Fallen Firefighters

The arrangements have been announced for the two New Tripoli firefighters that perished in last week's fire in Schuylkill County.

Firefighters Marvin Gruber, 59, and Assistant Chief Zachary Paris, 36, both of New Tripoli and members of the New Tripoli Fire Company died in the line of duty while fighting a fire in West Penn Township in Schuylkill County on Tuesday.

Since then, fire companies from across the state of Pennsylvania and the United States have shown their support and have expressed interest in attending the services of the firefighters.

Over the weekend, their obituaries were published and announced a public service will be held for both firefighters together.

A public viewing will be held on Saturday, December 17, 2022, from 8:00am to 11:00am at the Northwestern Lehigh Middle School located at 6636 Northwest Rd, New Tripoli, PA 18066.

A private viewing will be held for all Lehigh County Public Service members and fellow Frederick County Division of Fire and Rescues Services members separately.

In post by the fire company, Fire Chief Gary Kuntz stated "“There are never the right words when a community suffers such a profound loss.  Our number one priority is the families of both fallen heroes. What this town has lost is vast, but what their families have lost is immeasurable. It is our duty to ensure their needs are met, today, tomorrow, and every day after that, and we are committed to do so.”
