The North Schuylkill School Board approved several hirings and coaching assignments during their regular meeting held Wednesday evening.
Prior to the start of the meeting, the Committee of the Whole Meeting was held where the following students were recognized as Students of the Month.
Jr./Senior High School
- Monica Selgrade (7th Grade) nominated by Mr. Mutchler
- Brady Welker (10th Grade) nominated by Mr. Frew
- Tash Naye Coles (11th Grade) nominated by Mr. Sharp
Elementary
- Drew Wartman (4th Grade) nominated by Ms. Schlein
- Mikayla Burke (5th Grade) nominated by Ms. Shadle and Ms. Potts
During the meeting, the board approved the following hirings, effective beginning in the 2023-2024 School Year:
- Rachael Damiter as a Speech and Language Pathologist at a starting salary of $45,575.00.
- Jenna Dyszel as a Guidance Counselor, assigned to 7th and 8th grade, at a starting salary at a starting salary of $54,875.00.
- Shane McGrath as a Physical Education Teacher, assigned to North Schuylkill Elementary, at a starting salary of $44,925.
- Nicole Kane as a Physical Education Teacher at a starting salary of $44,275.00.
- Linsey Wesner as an Elementary Teacher, assigned to 2nd Grade, at a starting salary of $43,000.00.
- Steven Wolfgang as an Elementary Teacher, assigned to 5th Grade, at a starting salary of $43,000.00.
- Shaylee Miller as an Elementary Teacher, assigned to kindergarten, at a starting salary of $43,000.00.
- Lisa Trask as a Substitute Nurse Assistant at a rate of $13.75 per hour.
The board also approved the following high school coaching assignments and salaries:
- Jarrid Todd as Head Boys Soccer Coach for the 2023 Season at a salary of $2,615.00
- Luke Lapotsky as an Assistant Softball Coach for the 2023 Season at a salary of $2,930.00.
- Jamie Palmerio as an Assistant Softball Coach (Junior High) for the 2023 Season at a salary $2,530.00
- Jack Marlow as an Assistant Softball Coach (Junior Varsity) for the 2023 Season at a salary of $2,330.00
- Jack Flynn as an Assistant Softball Coach for the 2023 Season at a salary $2,090.00. (Board Member Woodward abstained from this vote)
- Chris Glessner as an Assistant Baseball Coach for the 2023 Season at a salary of $3,050.00.
- Steve Ennis as an Assistant Baseball Coach for the 2023 Season at a salary of $3,030.00
- Kieran Connors as an Assistant Baseball Coach for the 2023 Season at a salary of $3,650.00
