PennDOT has reduced the speed limits on Interstate 81 in Schuylkill County late Monday and early Tuesday.
As of 11:00pm, Monday, the speed limits on Interstate 81 northbound and southbound between the McAdoo Exit to Pine Grove Exit have been reduced to 55 miles per hour.
The updated speed limits have been posted variable speed limit signs along this corridor.
The speed limit change is due to fog that has formed along this stretch of the Interstate. The National Weather Service has also issued an alert because of the fog and visibility may worsen overnight.
