Bridget McGown Miller Announces Bid for Re-Election to Office of the Prothonotary of Schuylkill County

Schuylkill County Prothonotary Bridget McGowan Miller has announced her bid for Re-election to Office. She was elected to her first term in 2019.
The Prothonotary is the elected civil clerk of the Court of Common Pleas and is responsible for recording all civil procedures before the court. This office also processes passport applications.

During McGowan Miller’s first term in Office, she initiated a Contract with Teleosoft to create a new Case Management System – CountySuite “Civil Court”. The Contract has been finalized and signed. Full implementation is scheduled for 2024.

The new system will accomplish many items from McGowan Miller’s original campaign platform by enabling the office to increase efficiencies with case and document management including E-filing and online document viewing, increase accuracy of data and create collaboration between County offices. It will also introduce cost recovery, consolidation of systems and promote government transparency. This operation is fully financed by the Prothonotary Automation Fund at no cost to the Schuylkill County Taxpayers.

Under McGowan Miller’s leadership the Prothonotary has successfully undergone three county audits and one state audit without incident since 2019.

McGowan Miller is a life-long resident of Schuylkill County and a graduate of Nativity B.V.M. High School. She was born and raised in Port Carbon and currently resides in Orwigsburg with her husband Dave. McGowan Miller serves on the Board of the Schuylkill Chamber of Commerce. She is also a member of Landingville Fire Co., Deer Lake Fire Co., Valley View Rod and Gun Club, Auburn VFW and Citizen’s Fire Co. of Palo Alto.
