Alice Bolton, age 88, of Morea, died Thursday afternoon at Broad Mountain Nursing and Rehabilitation in Frackville. 

Born at the former Locust Mountain Hospital she was the daughter of the late George and Blanche (Eckler) Becker. She was a 1952 graduate of Mahanoy City High School and studied nurses aide at the Pottsville Hospital School of Nursing. She went on to work there as a nurses aide for 20 years and was also a cook at Broad Mountain Nursing and Rehabilitation. She was a member of the New Hope Wesleyan Church in Frackville. 

 She was preceded in death by a son Delton Bolton, a brother Marle Becker, a granddaughter Stephanie Kurtz a great grandson Izack Zaharick and a great granddaughter Alayah Carmichael. 

 She is survived by her children Janette Vicario and her husband Ralph, Odell Saunders, Diane Peters Susan Trutt and James Bolton. and many grandchildren and great grandchildren. 

Relatives and friends are invited to her funeral on Thursday morning at 11 AM from David D. Jarrett Funeral Home of Mahanoy City. Pastor Anita Brown will officiate. 

 Interment will follow in the German Protestant Cemetery in Mahanoy Township., Friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday evening at the funeral home from 6 to 8 PM and again on Thursday morning from 9 AM until time of service. 

Contributions in her name to the New Hope Wesleyan Church would be appreciated by the family and will be accepted at the visitation.

Philomena “Dolly” Russo, 89, formerly of Kelayres, passed away peacefully on Friday at Mt. City Nursing Center, Hazle Twp.

Born in Kelayres, she was the daughter of the late Anthony and Catherine (Fudge) Russo.

Dolly had attended McAdoo High School and was a member of the former Immaculate Conception R.C. Church, Kelayres.

Prior to retiring, Dolly was employed at Russo’s Service Station, McAdoo.

She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.

Preceding her in death, were her brothers John, Anthony, Generose and Peter Russo.

Surviving are nieces and nephews.

Her funeral will be held Wednesday. Rev. Msgr. William Baker will celebrate the Mass of Christian Burial in Church of All Saints, McAdoo, at 10 a.m. interment will follow in Immaculate Conception Cemetery, McAdoo.

A calling hour will be held Wednesday from 9 to 10 a.m. in the church.

The Damiano Funeral Home Inc., McAdoo, is assisting the family with arrangements.
