Philadelphia Woman, Who Struck Teen with Vehicle in Tamaqua, is Wanted by Schuylkill County Detectives


Schuylkill County District Attorney Michael O’Pake and the Schuylkill County Detectives are asking the public to help locate a Philadelphia woman.
Kayla Shea Hayes, 23, with last known address of 2736 Tilton Street, Philadelphia, is wanted on an active bench warrant for failing to appear at the Schuylkill County Courthouse on October 18, 2022, for jury selection for her trial.

Hayes is facing charges for Accidents Involving Death or Personal Injury - Felony 3, Accidents Involving Death or Injury While Not Licensed – Felony 3, Failure to Stop and Give Information or Render Aid – Summary, Failure to Notify Police of Accident involving Injury or Death - Summary.

The incident occurred November 20th, 2021, when Hayes fled the scene after she struck a 16-year-old at the intersection of Laurel and East Broad Streets in Tamaqua with her vehicle.

She was taken into custody and arraigned on December 6th, 2021, posted bail, and was released.

Hayes has since failed to appear for her court appearances.

She is described as being 5 feet 5 inches in height and weighs approximately 105 lbs.
