Delbert F. “Butch" Miller Jr., 78 of New Ringgold passed away Wednesday May 3, 2023 at Penn State Health St. Joseph Medical Center, Reading PA,

Born in Pottsville, PA August 24, 1944, he was a son of the late Delbert F. and Madeline G. (Oxley) Miller.

He was a 1963 graduate of Blue Mountain High School. He devoted most of his professional life too driving truck, and working at the family restaurant.

Delbert was the Owner/Operator of D.F. Miller Trucking, he drove for J.W. Zaprazny and Halabura Tree Farms. For 30 years you could also find him every Sunday morning cooking breakfast at The McKeansburg Hotel with which he co-owned with his son Kevin. He never really retired, always working on a project or helping a friend or family member in need.

Delbert was a member of the Pine Creek Fishing Club, he enjoyed fishing, gardening, baking, cooking family dinners and his family, and always ready to fix what his family broke.

He is survived by his wife of 60 years Darlene S. (Hettinger) Miller, sister Barbara (Miller) Heffner, daughter Bonnie J. Miller and her husband George Davis of New Ringgold, 2 sons Kevin Miller and his wife Becky (Decosta) Miller of Schuylkill Have and son Scott Miller of Pottsville, grandchildren Jessica (Haberstroh) Snyder and her husband Jesse Snyder, Travis and Tyler Miller, Great grandchildren Estella Eberts, Danica Snyder, Maverick, Ronan and Avery Miller, and a host of other dear relatives and friends.

Funeral Services will be held at 11 o'clock AM, Wednesday May 10, 2023 at Christ Church McKeansburg, 6 S Race St, New Ringgold, PA 17960. Pastor Jonathan Heim will be officiating.

Friends and colleagues are invited to attend a visitation from 9:30 to 11:00 am at the church. Burial will follow at Schuylkill Memorial Park Cemetery, Schuylkill Haven.

Margaret C. “Peggy” (Stavitsky) Kovalusky, 87 of Shenandoah passed away on Thursday evening, May 4, 2023 at the Shenandoah Senior Living Community.

Born in Shenandoah on December 6, 1935, she was a daughter of the late Alfred and Lina (Schrader) Stavitsky.

She was a graduate of the former J.W. Cooper High School, Shenandoah.

Peggy was a retired seamstress in the local garment industry and was a member of the ILGWU.

She was a devout member of Divine Mercy Parish, Shenandoah and especially the former Saint Stanislaus Church where she always volunteered her time for all of the parish fundraisers. Peggy was known as the “Bleenie Lady” at the annual Saint Stanislaus Church Bazaars and she always fried and served them with a smile. Holidays were very special to her and family, everyone looked forward to her Christmas Eve feasts. In recent years, she treasured the time spent with her great-grandchildren especially when attending their activities and events.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Albert J. Kovalusky in 1989; twin sons, Robert P. Kovalusky at birth and Albert “Al Kovy” Kovalusky in 2010; brother, Alfred “Blackie” Stavitsky and her sister, Lorraine Stavitsky.

Surviving are her grandson, Albert P. Kovalusky and his wife Kassy of Shenandoah Heights; her granddaughter, Tiffany Kovalusky of Minersville; five great-grandchildren, Brittany, Alex, Janiya, Natalie and Jamir; cousins and many friends.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, May 11, 2023 at 10:00 am in Divine Mercy Church, 232 West Cherry Street, Shenandoah with Monsignor Ronald C. Bocian, Pastor as the celebrant. Interment will follow in Saint Stanislaus Church, Shenandoah Heights. A viewing will be held on Thursday morning from 8:00 am until 9:30 am at Walukiewicz-Oravitz Fell Funeral Home, 132 South Jardin Street, Shenandoah.

David R. "Sam" Rhody, Sr.
, 82, of Tower City, passed away Thursday, May 4, 2023 at his home surrounded by his family.

Born in Joliett, February 8, 1941, a son of the late Henry and Delilah Bendigo Rhody. Sam was a 1959 graduate of the former Porter Tower High School.

He was retired from Bethlehem Steel, Steelton.

Sam was a member of St. Peter's United Church of Christ, Orwin, the Orwin Gun Club, and the Orwin and Muir Fire Companies.

He was an avid dart and trap shooter, belonging to different leagues throughout his life. He will be remembered as a lifelong Philadelphia Phillies and Eagles fan. Above all, Sam's family was the center of his world.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sons, David Jr., 2000, and Stephen, 2016; two brothers, Gene and Harold Rhody.

Surviving are his wife of 63 years, Rose Ruch Rhody; a daughter, Jeannie Fessler and her husband Ed, Pine Grove; a brother, Ralph Rhody, Joliett; grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, May 9, 2023 at 11:00 AM from the Chapel of the Dimon Funeral Home with Rev. Maureen Duffy-Guy officiating. Viewings will be held Monday evening from 6-8 PM and Tuesday from 10-11 AM. Burial will be in the St. Peter's Cemetery, Orwin.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to St. Peter's Cemetery, 427 Dietrich Avenue, Tower City, PA 17980.
