St. Clair Man Face Charges for DUI and Attempting to Flee Police

ST. CLAIR - On Monday, May 1st, 2023, the St. Clair Police Department filed charges on Edward Koropchak, 44, of St. Clair, for an incident on January 16, 2023.

St. Clair Police say, in January, they were dispatched to the area of 310 Mill Creek Avenue for a report of a male unresponsive in a vehicle.  Upon arrival, officers observed the reported vehicle leaving the area.  St. Clair Police followed and observed numerous traffic violations and attempted to pull over the vehicle.

The driver failed to stop and police followed for approximately 10 miles until he pulled over.  The driver, Koropchak, was arrested for suspicion of DUI.

The charges filed on Monday include, DUI, fleeing and attempting to elude police, habitual offender, reckless driving, careless driving, and other traffic violations.

Koropchak will answer to the above charges before Magisterial District Judge David Plachko, Port Carbon, on May 23rd, 2023.

Car Parts Stolen in Blythe Township

BLYTHE TOWNSHP - According to the Pennsylvania State Police at Frackville, two car parts were stolen from 69 James Street between April 22, 2023 and May 1, 2023.  

The parts stolen included Rock Defense Tube Doors and Quick Release Door hinges.

The items are valued at approximately $500.

Tools Stolen from Home in Klingerstown

UPPER MAHANTANGO TOWNSHIP - According to the Pennsylvania State Police at Schuylkill Haven, on April 6th, 2023, State Police were called to 77 Main Street, Klingerstown for a report of a theft.

Reported stolen were the following items:

  • Milwaukee Sawzaw
  • Milwaukee Drill
  • Milwaukee Grinder
  • Milwaukee Batter
  • Code Reader
  • Volt Meter
  • Heavy Duty Ratchet Strap
  • Ratchet Strap
  • 24 ft Extension Cord
  • 100 ft Extension Cord
  • Come Along Cable Puller
  • Handtruck
  • Sledge Hammer
  • Pipe Cutter
  • Shovel

$1,900 Stolen through Internet Scam

DEER LAKE - According to the Pennsylvania State Police at Schuylkill Haven, on April 7th, 2023, State Police from Schuylkill Haven responded to a report of a theft.  The female victim reported that she received a fake email from Amazon and paid an unknown male $1,900. 

The investigation is ongoing.

Cressona Property Burglarized

CRESSONA - According to the Pennsylvania State Police at Schuylkill Haven, on April 29th, 2023, Troopers began and investigation after a Craftsman Weed Wacker was stolen from a property on Charles Street in Cressona. 

The investigation is ongoing.

State Police Investigate Person Exposing Themselves on Interstate 81

FRAILEY TOWNSHIP - According to the Pennsylvania State Police at Frackville, on April 8th, 2023, Troopers were dispatched to Interstate 81 in Frailey Township to speak to a victim in regards to indecent exposure.

The victim told police that an unknown male driving a black sedan drove next to the victim, turned on his interior light and began masturbating.

State Police continue to investigate.
