. 45, Hillsborough N.J formally from Frackville passed away peacefully with immediate family by his side on July 20th at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, New Brunswick N.J.

Joseph A. Onuskanich, 73, of Adamsdale, passed away, Wednesday, July 19th, at his residence, with his wife Beverly at his side.

Joe was born in Pottsville on January 23, 1950. Joe’s mother was the late Christine (Castellano) Onuskanich. Joe was raised by his mother and her husband, John Katchmir, whom Joe considered his father.

He was a Blue Mountain High School Graduate, class of 1967. Joseph then went on to graduate from Stevens Technical Trade School in Lancaster in 1970. He worked as a mechanic his whole life and opened his own garage, Little Joe's in Pottsville.

He was a member of the Deer Lake / West Brunswick #1 Fire Company. He was also a member of the Never Hit Gun Club in Clinton County. He wrestled throughout high school and later coached Biddy wrestling, Little League and midget football. He was inducted into the Blue Mountain All Sports Hall of Fame in 1995.

In addition to Beverly, his wife of 55 years, Joe is survived by three sons Joseph P. Onuskanich, Michael J. Onuskanich and Peter T. Onuskanich, husband of Christina. He is also survived by his four grandchildren Brooke, Jonathan, Juliana & Arabella.

Also surviving is his sister, Mary Ann Hubler, widow of Carl and his two brothers, Paul Onuskanich, husband of Joanne and John Katchmir, as well as nieces & nephews

A Religious Service will be held at 7:00 PM, Tuesday evening at Hamilton - Breiner Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc. in Orwigsburg, with Rev. Jeff Johnson officiating. Visitation will begin at 5:00 PM Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or a charity of your choice, in Joe’s memory.

John Jacob Lesher Sr.
, 80, of Gratz, passed away Monday July 17, 2023 due to an automobile accident in Mercer County. Born August 16, 1942, he was the son of Albert and Eva Lesher. John graduated from Upper Dauphin High School, Class of 1961 and was a dairy farmer for 25 years, as well as a contractor. He married Laura Smeltzer in 1963 and would have celebrated 60 years of marriage on August 3. In later years, he and his wife owned and operated the chicken coop concrete products located in Gratz. John was a member of the F.andA.M. Valley Lodge #797. He enjoyed gardening, always having the house full of plants and flowers. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by siblings Martha Snyder, Shirley Hendricks, and James Lesher Sr.

Son John Lesher Jr, wife Suzanne, Elizabethville

Son Michael Lesher, wife Marge, Gratz

Daughter Sharon Shade, Lykens

Daughter LaRay Howell and husband Daniel, Duncannon

9 Grandchildren Zachary, Ben and Josh Lesher, Jer Lettich, Shara Stoltzfus, Ashlyn Graeff, Javin Shade, Paul Strohecker, Brooke Howell; and 12 great grandchildren, as well as nieces and nephews.

A service will be held at 11am on Tuesday July 25, from the James A. Reed Funeral Home, Pillow. A visitation will be held from 10am until time of service at the funeral home. Burial will be made in Riverview Memorial Gardens, Halifax.
