Jenna Marie Sallade
, 18, Mahanoy City, formerly of Ashland, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, July 31st.

Born in Reading, she was a daughter of Stacey Hozella, Mahanoy City and James Sallade, Shenandoah. She was employed as a general laborer for T and E Welding, Gilberton.

Jenna was a recent 2023 graduate of North Schuylkill High School. She enjoyed the beach, painting, and taking late night walks. She enjoyed hanging out with her friends especially her boyfriend of a few years, Logan Payne. She was an animal lover and will be missed by her two dogs, Rosey and Philly.

She was preceded in death by her maternal great-grandmother, Marietta Stahl.

In addition to her parents, she is survived by her brother, Mark Stalnecker and his wife Coral, Frackville; her three sisters: Kaylee Sallade, Minersville; Amanda Sallade and her companion Nikholas Bolinsky, Frackville; twin sister, Jamie Sallade Mahanoy City and her companion Jacob Svrcek; her maternal grandparents: Dolores Torrens, Kenhorst; Michael Kulp, Birdsoboro; her paternal grandparents: Leon and his wife Sherry Sallade, Muhlenberg; Taryn and her husband Dave Booze, Pottstown; her two nephews, one niece and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

A funeral service will be held at 12 noon on Tuesday, August 8th from the Thomas M. Sullivan Funeral Home, 403 W. Main Street, Girardville. Friends are invited to a visitation on Tuesday morning at the funeral home from 9 a.m. until the time of service. Interment will be private.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made, in Jenna's name, to the Animal Rescue of your choice.

Luann Sweigert
, 67, of Coudersport, passed away peacefully, Wednesday morning, August 2, 2023 at her son Shannon's home in Tower City.

Born in Lebanon, June 22, 1956, a daughter of the late Charles and Christine McConnell Whitman.

Luann was a retired custodian, working for Dauphin County. She had also worked for many years with the Harrisburg and Lebanon Humane Society, a job she truly loved.

She had a great passion for animals and enjoyed feeding the deer while living upstate.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by a brother, Brad Whitman.

Surviving are her three children, William Sweigert III and his wife Michelina, Mechanicsburg, Shannon Sweigert and his wife Wendi, Tower City, and Tanetha Sweigert, Fredericksburg; four grandchildren, Travis, Hannah, Haylee, and Gabriella; one great granddaughter Geneva; siblings, Charles Whitman Jr. and his wife Suzanne, Myerstown, Dianna Dillen, Harrisburg, Barry Whitman and his wife Sandy, Coudersport, Tammy Landis and her fiancee Bennie Stuble, Lebanon, Sonya Long and her husband Ronald, Jonestown, Craig Whitman and his wife Courtney, Coudersport, and Forrest Whitman, Coudersport; many nieces and nephews.

Services will be held Saturday, August 5, 2023 at 11:00 AM from the First United Presbyterian Church, 402 N Main Street, Coudersport. A luncheon and time of fellowship will be held at Kaytee's Family Restaurant and Marketplace, 251 US-6, Couderpsort immediately following the service.

Russell R Zimmerman
, age 82, of Pitman, passed away Tuesday, August 1, 2023 at Green Valley Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Pottsville.

He was born on Thursday, December 12, 1940, in Pitman, a son of the late John Zimmerman and the late Minnie M Smith.

Russell had worked on area farms and at Roger Snyder's Butcher Shop prior to his retirement.

He enjoyed traveling and visiting friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; by two sisters, Pauline Heim and Maude Smith, and by two brothers, George Zimmerman and John Kessler.

He is survived by several nieces and nephews; and two special friends, Roger Snyder and Melissa Sitlinger.

Services will be held at Hepler's Church of God, Ptiman on Thursday, August 10, 2023, at 11 a.m., with Rev. Robert Cassel officiating. There will be no viewing or visitation prior to the service.

Burial will be in Hepler's Cemetery, Pitman.

Buffington-Reed Funeral Home, Inc., Valley View, is in charge of arrangements.

Russell J. Mascarell, 93, of Kline Twp., passed away peacefully, with his loving nieces at his side, on Monday at Lehigh Valley Hospital, Hazleton.

Born in McAdoo, he was the son of the late Samuel and Anna (O’Shaushnessy) Mascarell.

He was a member of Church of All Saints, McAdoo.

Russell was a Korean War veteran serving in the U.S. Army. He completed a Leaders Course for the 9th Infantry Division and was a sharpshooter. Russell later served in the U.S. Army Reserves.

Prior to his retirement from Bradley Caldwell, West Hazleton, he was first employed at Atlas Powder Co., and later at Foster Wheeler.

In his younger years, Russell was a pilot, owning and operating his own plane. He was well-versed in history and current events, and his intelligence never waived in his 93 years.

Preceding him in death were his wife Regina M. (D’Alessandro) Mascarell; and brothers Eugene and James Mascarell.

Having never had children of his own, he considered his nieces, Michele Poluka and husband Tom, Sonja Smith, and Lori Stoney and husband Duane, as his own daughters. Surviving are his sister, Mary Fetter; brother-in-law Ronald D’Alessandro; and several nieces and nephews.

Friends and relatives are invited to attend the Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated on Saturday at 11 a.m. in Church of All Saints, McAdoo, by Rev. Msgr. William Baker. Interment will follow in St. Patrick’s R.C. Cemetery, McAdoo.

No calling hours are scheduled.

The Damiano Funeral Home, McAdoo, is assisting the family with arrangements.

Judith Marilyn Renninger
, 81, of W. Main St., Tremont, closed her eyes for the last time surrounded by family, on Wednesday, August 2, 2023 in Seton Manor, Orwigsburg.

Born on July 28, 1942 in Tremont, she was a daughter of the late Noel and Janette Gasken Fasnacht.

She was a 1960 graduate of Tremont High School and attended Beauty School.

Judith had been a hairdresser and seamstress.

She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, Tremont.

Judith loved her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren and they were her world.

Preceding her in death were here husband of 56 years, Howard L. "Bud" Renninger, Jr.; two granddaughters, Jill Kroh and Courtney Madenford; a sister Janet Fasnacht and a brother Richard R. Fasnacht, Sr.

Surviving are two daughters, Nola Madenford and Linda Renninger; two sons, Scott Renninger and Richard Renninger; all of Tremont; two grandchildren, Casey and wife Michol Kroh of Donaldson, Megan and husband Bryan Strouphauer of Tremont; five great grandchildren, Casey, Calleigh, and Wyatt Kroh, Lily and Lyla Strouphauer; a brother, Noel Fasnacht of Kentucky; nieces and nephews.

There will be a viewing on Saturday, August 5, 2023 from 10:00 A.M. until 11:00 A.M. at the H. L. Snyder Funeral Home, Inc., Pine Grove. Funeral Services will be held at the convenience of the family with Ryan Fasnacht officiating. Interment will be in St. John's Lutheran Cemetery, Tremont.

Steve W. Plasko
, 61 years of age of Plymouth Meeting, Pennsylvania passed away on Tuesday, August 1, 2023, at the home of his sister Tricia Plasko Rocchino who was his caregiver of many years.

Born Wednesday, February 7, 1962 in Coaldale, Pennsylvania, the son of the late Joseph A. Plasko and Patricia (Kubilus) Plasko, R.N. Steve was also predeceased by brother, Joseph M. Plasko.

Surviving are; son, Alexander Plasko; daughters, Olivia Plasko and Candace Plasko; brothers, William J. Plasko of Florida, Michael G. Plasko of Louisiana, and Tricia M. Rocchino of Plymouth Meeting. Steve will also be fondly remembered and missed by George Rocchino, Sara Rocchino, and Nicola Plasko.

An accomplished athlete, Steve graduated from Tamaqua Area High School class of 1980. He loved sharing stories of his days on the baseball and football field at Tamaqua High and the friendships he made with his teammates. He earned his Associates Degree as a Machinist from Stephens Trade School in Lancaster, and his B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Penn State University. A devout Catholic by faith, Steve was known as "Mr. Fix-it". He could find a way to fix almost anything and was often found tinkering in the garage. He loved all his gadgets. Steve was always willing to lend a hand and helped many friends and family with home improvement projects. Steve was also an accomplished body builder and won several distinguished competitions. Steve was resilient, and persevered throughout very difficult times since being injured in an accident in 2008.

Interment will be in SS. Peter & Paul R.C.C Cemetery Tamaqua, Pennsylvania.
