Three Injured in Rollover Crash Caused by Deer on Route 901

Two adults and a child were injured in a vehicle rollover on 901 late Sunday.

The crash occurred around 10:00pm, Sunday, on Route 901 in Barry Township in the area of the intersection with Beurys Road.

An SUV was travelling north on Route 901 when it struck a deer in the roadway causing it to lose control, strike an embankment, and rolled several times.

Two adults, a male and a female, and a child were inside the vehicle and had freed themselves from the vehicle before emergency personnel arrived.  

The female sustained more serious injuries and was transported to an area hospital via Minersville Ambulance.

The male and the child sustained minor injuries and were transported to the hospital via Ashland's Washington Ambulance.

Responding to the scene were the fire companies from Lavelle and Gordon, and rescue units from Ashland and Minersville.  Ambulances from Ashland, Minersville, and Area Services from Northumberland County were dispatched as well.
