Shenandoah Valley Art Club Honors WWII Veterans with Memorial Restoration

The Shenandoah Valley Art Club has begun working on an initiative to refurbish the World War II Memorial situated in the corridor adjacent to their high school gymnasium.
Led by Shenandoah Valley Art teacher Jennifer Zemek, the students dedicated themselves to restoring the memorial. The endeavor included a process of not only rejuvenating the existing elements but also rectifying an oversight from the memorial's initial construction in 2004.

Approximately 180 names of WWII veterans, inadvertently omitted during the memorial's inception, have now found their rightful place of honor. The students added these names, ensuring that each veteran's contribution is acknowledged and remembered.

As part of the final phase of the restoration project, the students undertook the task of alphabetizing the names, providing organization that enhances the overall tribute. Modern frames were also installed, preserving the memorial for years to come.
