BOYS BASKETBALL: Unbeaten Streak Continues for Blue Mountain with Win Over North Schuylkill



On Monday evening, the Blue Mountain Eagles and the North Schuylkill Spartans met on the court in Cesari-Hope Gymnasium.

Blue Mountain entered the contest with an unbeaten record of 3-0, while North Schuylkill, with a record of 3-1, sought redemption after a setback at the Lebanon Tip-Off Tournament. 

The first quarter set the tone for Blue Mountain's dominance as they surged ahead, closing the opening period with a commanding lead of 28-11. 

The Spartans, however, gained some ground, narrowing the gap to 41-31 by halftime.

Blue Mountain maintained their lead throughout the game. With just four minutes left in the third quarter, they widened the gap to an impressive 20 points, leading 56-36. The Eagles continued to showcase their power, entering the final quarter with an advantage of 66-47 at the 5:22 mark and extending it to 71-47 with four minutes remaining.

Yet, the Spartans staged a late-game rally, clawing their way back into contention. With 2:33 left on the clock, North Schuylkill cut the deficit to just 7 points, trailing 73-66. The game reached a fever pitch as both teams' top scorers, Blue Mountain's Isaac Thomas and North Schuylkill's Jack Keiter, fouled out.

In the end, Blue Mountain emerged victorious, sealing their fourth consecutive win of the season with a final score of 80-66. The Eagles' top scorers included Tyeirre Meade with an impressive 25 points, followed by Isaac Thomas with 21 points, Elijah Feisel with 17 points, and Aidan Grace contributing 13 points.

North Schuylkill's efforts were led by Zane Zulkowski, who scored 21 points, Jack Keiter with 17 points, and Luke Miller with 12 points.

With this win, Blue Mountain remains undefeated at 4-0 and is set to face Panther Valley at home on Thursday night. Meanwhile, North Schuylkill, now 3-2, looks to bounce back and will host Pine Grove in their next matchup on Thursday.
