A man is in custody in Columbia County for stabbing his mother to death.
According to the Pennsylvania State Police at Bloomsburg, on Wednesday, December 27th, 2023, Troopers received a request to assist the Scott Township Police Department with a homicide investigation near Bloomsburg on Old Berwick Road.
Through an investigation, it was determined Bonnie Lou Cosper, 82, was fatally stabbed multiple times by her son, 60-year-old James Cosper.
James Cosper was charged with homicide, aggravated assault, and tampering with evidence through Magisterial District Judge Lawton's office, Bloomsburg. His bail was denied.
The Columbia County District Attorney requested the State Police to conduct the investigation.
