Schuylkill County Officials and Judges Sworn In


In a ceremony held on Thursday, the elected row officers and judges of Schuylkill County took the oath of office, pledging their commitment to the service of the community.

The ceremony was held before their family and friends in Courtroom 1 of the Schuylkill County Courthouse.

Also attending the event were dignitaries, Senator David Argall, Representatives Tim Twardzik, Dane Watro, Jamie Barton, and JoAnne Stehr, and Pennsylvania Liquor Control Chairman Tim Holden.

The Schuylkill County Court of Common Pleas Judges also attended including the Honorable Jacqueline L. Russell, Honorable Charles M. Miller, Honorable James P. Goodman, Honorable Christina E. Hale, and Honorable Christopher W. Hobbs.

The oath was administered by President Judge Jacqueline L. Russel to a distinguished group of officials, each of whom holds a key role in the governance and justice system of the county. 

Among those taking the oath were the Schuylkill County Commissioners: Larry Padora, Barron Boots Hetherington, and Gary Hess. 

Sharyn Yackenchick was sworn in as the County Controller, while Linda Yeich took the oath as County Treasurer. 

Prothonotary Bridge McGowan Miller, Clerk of Court Crista DiCasimirro, Register of Wills Theresa Santai Gaffney, and Recorder of Deeds Ann Dudish were all sworn in.

The Magisterial District Judges, Andrew Serina, James Reiley, and Stephen Bayer, also pledged to a new term.

Lastly, Court of Common Pleas Judge Bill Burke took the solemn oath.  Judge Burke spoke after the oath saying he would be dedicating his first term as Judge to his late mother and father.

After taking the oath, Judge Burke donned his robe and joined the other Common Pleas judges at the bench.
