Alan G. Romberger
, 73, of New Ringgold, passed away on Thursday, January 11, 2024, in his home. He was the husband of Sandra (Moyer) Romberger. They celebrated their 54th wedding anniversary on December 30, 2023. Prior to retiring, he was a lifelong carpenter. He was employed for over 40 years with Curtis J. Bailey, Inc. 

Born in Pottsville, he was the son of the late Albert and Miriam (Krammes) Romberger. He was a Marine veteran having served in Vietnam. Alan was an avid hunter. He loved spending time with his family. 

Surviving in addition to his wife, Sandra, are four sons, Scott, and his wife, Lori, of Pine Grove, Charles, and his wife Alicia, of Schuylkill Haven, Tyler, of Pottsville, and Gavin, of New Ringgold; two daughters, Jill Davis, of Cressona, and Daisi Romberger, of New Ringgold; three brothers, Irvin Yeich, of Cressona, Robert Yeich, of California, and John Romberger, and his wife Mary Ann, of Chicago; five grandchildren; three great grandchildren; and nieces and nephews. 

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St Jude, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105. Private services. 

Arrangements are being handled by the Hartman Funeral Home, 1791 West Penn Pike, Rte. 309, New Ringgold.

Johnola Petrozino
, 89, formerly of St. Clair and Frackville, died Monday January 8, 2024 at Seton Manor Nursing Center, Orwigsburg.

Born in Port Carbon, May 12, 1934, she was a daughter of the late John and Bertha (Mudry) Marcinik.

She graduated from St. Clair School and then worked as a seamstress for many years in the garment industry.

Johnola was a member of First United Presbyterian, St. Clair, PA; Frackville Senior Citizens, American Legion Auxiliary, and National Slovak Society.

She was preceded in death by her husband Salvadore Petrozino in 1987, 2 sisters Mildred Noel and Bertha Olshalsky.

Surviving are 3 sons: Mark Petrozino and his wife Lori of Philadelphia; Anthony Petrozino and his wife Martina of St. Clair; John Petrozino Sr. of St. Clair; 3 grandsons John, Tony and Eric Petrozino and 1 granddaughter Domonique Petrozino 3 great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Memorial Services will be held at Thursday Jan. 18, 2024 at 10:00 AM at the First United Presbyterian Church 120 North Mill Street St. Clair, PA 17970. The Rev. Robert Schaeffer will be officiating. Friends may call Wednesday from 6:00-8:00 PM at the Nice- Hart Funeral Home, Inc. 9 North Lehigh Ave. Frackville, PA 17931and Thursday from 9:00AM till 10:00 AM at the First United Presbyterian Church In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to First United Presbyterian Church Memorial Fund at the above address. Interment will be in Odd Fellows Cemetery St. Clair.

Rose Marie Minder, 88, of Forestville, Cass Township, unexpectedly passed away on Thursday after being stricken ill at home.

Born on February 6, 1935 in Minersville, she was a daughter of the late Joseph Pizzico and the late Mary Antonelli Pizzico Walters. She was a 1952 graduate of Minersville High School, and worked in the local garment industry, including the former Phillips & Jones and the former Jackson Blouse.

She was a member of St. Nicholas Ukrainian Catholic Church, Minersville, where she was a longtime volunteer for various church activities, including the annual St. Nicholas Church Picnic.

In addition to her parents, Marie was preceded in death in 2020 by her husband of 64 years, Raymond Minder; a grandson, John Minder, Jr., in 2005; two brothers, John Pizzico, in 2020, and Joseph Pizzico, at birth in 1939; her stepfather, George Walters, in 1982.

She is survived by three children, John Minder, Sr. (spouse, Laureen), New Street, Norwegian Township, Marilyn Minder (companion, John Ruppert), Bethlehem, and Raymond J. Minder (spouse, Elena), Black Heath, Cass Township; three grandchildren, Patrice Minder and Desiree Zornow (spouse, Michael) and Joshua Minder, USAF; a great grandson, Harrison Zornow. She is also survived by two siblings, Anna Butcavage, Minersville, and Georgine Walters, Minersville; nieces and nephews.

The family will accept visitors at Dutcavich Funeral Home, 200 Sunbury Street, Minersville, on Monday from 6:00 P.M. and on Tuesday from 6:00 A.M. until Panachyda at 9:00 A.M. Requiem Divine Liturgy will be at 10:00 A.M. in St. Nicholas Church, 415 Front Street, Minersville. Interment will be at the convenience of the family in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville. The family prefers remembrances in the form of donations to St. Nicholas Church, Minersville.

James Bruce Harris
, 85, Pottsville passed away unexpectedly January 10th at his home. 

He was born in Detroit, MI on July 23, 1938, son of the late Anna (Fatula) and Harold Harris. He was a member of the Church of St. Patrick, Pottsville. He served in the U.S. Army. He was employed at Kreig Lumber and Steve’s Paneling Center. He was a founding member of the 25 Pines Club, and he played in numerous golf leagues. 

He was preceded in death by his wife Patricia L. (Brennan). Brothers: Robert and Peter Harris. Sisters: Joan Mest, Barbara Seacrist, and Arlene Harris. 

James is survived by daughters Sandra (Daniel Koury), Christine (Brian Gottshall), and son Kevin Harris (Tara). He is also survived by sisters Donna (Angelo Iafrate) and Patricia Harris, brothers Jerome (Bobbie) and Thomas Harris. Grandchildren; Nicole, Steven, Kayla, Natalie, Zachary, Daniel Jr., Taylor, Emily, Brianna, Brian Jr. Great Grandchildren; Kaedan, Tyler, Killian, Jason, Hudson. 

All are respectfully invited to attend a Visitation 6:00 to 8:00 pm on Monday, January 15th at Mahal-Ritzel Funeral Home, Inc. 104 S. 4th St., Minersville, PA. as well as 7:00 to 9:15 am on Tuesday morning, January 16th followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at Church of Saint Patrick, Pottsville with the Father Phil Rodgers celebrant. Internment at Our Lady of Calvary Cemetery, Hillside Pottsville PA. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Pottsville Free Public Library, 215 W. Market Street, Pottsville PA 17901.
