UPDATE: Two Victims, and One Firefighter Transported After Palo Alto Fire

Three people were transported after a fire in Palo Alto on Tuesday morning.

Just before 9:30am, emergency personnel were called to the area of 501 West Savory Street for a house fire.  

As units responded, a column of smoke was visible as far as the city of Pottsville.

Firefighters arrived to find a working fire with a victim in a 3rd story window of 507 West Savory.  Two victims were rescued from the home as crews battled the blaze.  Both of those victims were flown to a trauma center.

One firefighter was also transported with unknown injuries.

Firefighters dealt with water issues throughout the fire, calling in tankers from all over Schuylkill County and the surrounding areas to assist.

Over 90 minutes from dispatch, crews were still battling active fire.

The homes at 507 and 509 West Savory Street were destroyed.

As of noon, the scene on West Savory Street was very active but several tankers were released back into service.
