WINTER STORM WATCH ISSUED FOR SCHUYLKILL COUNTY


The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Storm Watch for Schuylkill County and several other Pennsylvania counties.

WINTER STORM WATCH IN EFFECT FROM SATURDAY MORNING THROUGH SUNDAY MORNING...

* WHAT...Heavy snow and mixed precipitation possible. Total snow accumulations of 4 to 7 inches and ice accumulations of a light glaze possible.

* WHERE...this alert includes the following Pennsylvania counties:

* WHEN...From Saturday morning through Sunday morning.

* IMPACTS...The worst travel conditions are expected Saturday afternoon through Saturday night, especially along Interstates 80 and 81, with snowfall rates in excess of one inch per hour at times creating snow covered roads and poor visibility.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Mixed precipitation will cut down on accumulations over the Lower Susquehanna River Valley, but the transition zone is still uncertain at this time.
