The Pennsylvania Courts web site is currently offline, a day after it was hit with a cyber-attack.

On Sunday, the Administrative Office of Pennsylvania Courts announced its website, https://pacourts.us/, was hit by a denial-of-service cyber-attack.

Since then, the site has been offline preventing people from accessing public applications including:

  • PACFile - the electronic filing system used by attorneys to file document with appellate courts and court of common pleas.
  • GTS - Guardianship Tracking System - application used by court appointed guardians, orphan clerks, court staff, and judges to track and submit reports related to guardianships of incapacitated persons.
  • Web Documents/Court Summaries - public document search for information filed by magisterial district courts, appellate courts, and court of common pleas.
  • PAePay - online payment system for cases with outstanding fines, costs, restitution, bail, and probation, parole fees.
On premise locations, including courts and magistrates, remain open allowing for individuals to still make payments.

As of 1:00pm, no information was made available on when the system will come back online.

Law enforcement including CISA, the US Department of Homeland Security, and FBI are investigating the incident.
