Police in Berks County foiled a burglary in progress early Monday morning.
According to Bethel Township Police, on Monday, February 5, 2024, at approximately 3:55AM, Police were dispatched to a burglary in progress at a home in the 1300 block of Pine Grove Road.
The caller reported that he and his wife woke up to the sound of someone walking around the first floor of their house while they were upstairs. The complainant looked downstairs and observed a male walking around.
A Bethel Township Police Officer arrived minutes later, observing the male still inside the house.
The officer took the male, identified as Carl Moyer, 64, of Bethel Township, into custody.
Moyer was transported to Berks County Central Processing where he awaits arraignment on charges of felony burglary, felony criminal trespass, and misdemeanor theft.
