Schuylkill County Crash Log - February 6th, 2024

WEST MAHANOY TOWNSHIP - This crash occurred on Monday January 1, 2024, at 12:09am, on Norton Way.
Troopers say the crash occurred as Tiffany Beaver, 46, of Shenandoah, failed to negotiate a right curve in the roadway and struck a guiderail.
The crash caused disabling damage to her Chevrolet Cobalt and had to be towed from the scene. Beaver was not injured.
State Police cited Beaver for the crash.

No Injuries Reported in Ryan Township Crash on Interstate 81
RYAN TOWNSHIP - This crash occurred on Wednesday, January 31st, 2024 on Interstate 81 Northbound near mile marker 124.7.
Troopers say the crash occurred as Taras Wac, 60, of Camp Hill in a Volvo VNR tractor trailer was driving northbound on Interstate 81 and struck the left rear axel of a Ford F250 Supercab that was disabled on the shoulder of the highway.
Wac lost control traveling off the shoulder and down an embankment. Both vehicles sustained disabling damage and had to be towed from the scene and no injuries were reported.
Wac will be cited for the crash.

One Injured in Route 61 Crash in North Manheim Township
NORTH MANHEIM TOWNSHIP - This crash occurred on Wednesday, January 31st, 2024 on Route 61 at the intersection with Route 443.
Troopers say the crash occurred as Kylie Marier, 28, of Frackville was traveling north on Route 61 and Deborah Chitwood, 65, of Orwigsburg was traveling east on Route 443.
Marier reportedly failed to stop at a steady red signal and was also traveling at a high rate of speed when she struck Chitwood in the intersection.
Both vehicles sustained heavy damage and had to be towed from the scene. Chitwood sustained minor injuries in the crash.
Marier will be cited for the crash.
