Schuylkill United Way Names New Director of Community Engagement


On Monday, the Schuylkill United Way announced the appointment of Mike Joyce as its new Director of Community Engagement.
The SUW says Joyce, a West Chester native and Shippensburg University graduate, brings a wealth of experience to the role.

Joyce started his career in the newspaper industry in suburban Philadelphia before making Schuylkill County his home in 1998.

Joyce will spearhead community and business development initiatives aimed at fortifying and advancing the mission of SUW. One of his primary responsibilities will be leading the vision and execution of the organization's annual campaign. Expressing his enthusiasm for the opportunity, Joyce stated, "Joining an organization that has such a significant, positive impact on Schuylkill County is truly exciting for me. Staying here was crucial, and I'm thrilled to contribute to SUW's mission."

SUW Board President, Mr. John Gleisner, emphasized the perfect fit that Mr. Joyce brings to the role, citing his existing relationship with SUW, community connections, business acumen, and unwavering commitment to Schuylkill County.

Joyce will officially assume his responsibilities in the office starting Monday, February 5th.

A familiar face within SUW, Mike Joyce previously served on the Board of Directors since 2019 and took on the role of 2023 Campaign Chair.

In addition to this development, Becky Woods has been promoted to the position of Director of Marketing & Programs for Schuylkill United Way.

SUW Executive Director, Kelly K. Malone, expressed her excitement about having a fully staffed team and looks forward to continuing to address the needs of the community.

The Schuylkill United Way is dedicated to providing funding, guidance, and encouragement to their Partner Agencies that provide a wide variety of programs and services to the residents of Schuylkill County. Their motto is H.O.P.E. – Helping Other People Everyday
