Driver Rescued Following Crash Down Embankment Between Shenandoah and Ringtown

A woman was transported after a crash in Union Township on Monday afternoon.

Just after 12:30pm, Monday, emergency personnel were called to 535 Ringtown Boulevard in Union Township for a motor vehicle accident involving a vehicle down an embankment.

Firefighters and police arrived to find a Jeep Cherokee, approximately 50 feet down an embankment near the scenic overlook.

Details on how the crash occurred were not available.

Firefighters from Ringtown and Aristes worked and rescued the female driver from the vehicle.  She was transported to the hospital with unknown injuries.

Steve's Towing assisted with recovering the vehicle.

Ringtown Boulevard was closed traveling towards Ringtown for approximately an hour while the vehicle was recovered.

State Police are investigating the crash.
